Show MEETING OF B. R. V. COMMERCIAL CLUB. Getinp in Line for Good Roads Much Enthusiasm on That Subject. Tho Board of Governors of tho Bear River Vailoy Commercial Club mot ln Clnrtand Saturday afternoon, May 8th. Tho object of tho meeting was to discuss dis-cuss plans for making an exhibit at tho Stato Fair and other fairs next fall, but in somo way tho mooting drifted from its stated purpose into a discussion of tho question of haying better roads In tho valley. Prcsldont J. P. Holmgren presided and K. H, Frldal was secretary. Tho minutes of a former meeting wero rend, approved and thon thp good roads business commenced. Henry Seeger was tho first speakor, and ho was full of tho subject, which he has studied from all polntn of vlow. Ho closed with a motion that tho county commissioners bo asked to bond the county for 2 por cont of tho total valuation val-uation of Its taxable property and tho money thus raised bo used for tho construction of hotter roads in tho county. Mr. Moslah Evans moved to amond by having tho commissioners set nsldo $20,000 for a now court house and whatever can thon bo spared spar-ed bo dovotod to roads. Aftor tho expenditure ex-penditure of a great deal of hot air, tho nmondmont nnd motion carried, but as the vote wns not unanimous, Mi. Moroni Mortonscn succeeded In having tho vote roconsldored, and an amondmont put through that tho roads havo tho first consideration and thon what could bo spared bo tiscd for a now court house. Thon it wad resolved re-solved that it wau tho aenso of the meeting that ho sum of $50,000, or so much ob mny bo needed, bo expended expend-ed for building good and pormnnent highways. Hon. W, S. Hanson was accorded tho floor and gavo n very Interesting talk on tho armors' Mutual Home Fire i i Insurance, nn organization that proposes pro-poses to do business rtmong tho farmers farm-ers of tho state, in which those who enrry policies shall chare the profits of tho business. Tho chnir nppointod a committee consisting of Honry Sccger, P. M. Hanson, and C. W. Mchardo to investigate in-vestigate tho good roads proposition and report at tho next mooting. He also appointed Hon. W. G. Hansen, M. H. Welling, F. A. E. Roche. Moroni Mortensen, David Holmgren, Oluf Jensen nnd A. R. Caponer a committee commit-tee on mutual llro Insurance.
