The ball gamo nt Garlnnd Saturday, May 8th, between tho Amntcur Champions Cham-pions nnd tho Drlghnm Elbertns, wns ono of tho best games played In this county for -a long time, according to those who attended. Until the fifth Inning, nothing was doing on either side, so when Garland came to the bat they scored 2 runs. In tho sixth, tho Elbertns mndo one tally and Garland Bcorcd one more. Tho fire works were set off In tho seventh when Tolman, first man at the bat, made n home run. Brlgham simply went wild, and the Champions wont Into the air. In this eame Inning, In-ning, Itnmshnw mado n three bagger, nnd the Elbertns Just naturally pounded poun-ded tho horsehldo all over the field. When tho "Peachos" were finally put out. they had piled up six more runs to their credit, and during the remnln-dor remnln-dor of the game, mado one moro tally, giving them 8 to the Champions 3. That wns undoubtedly tho worst drubbing drub-bing the Champions ever had, but they wero outclassed by their sturdy opponents, who played a "ponch" of n gamo. Tho Elbertns attribute tholr victory. vic-tory. In a measure, to the vociferous yolltng of Jack Knudson, Joe Zlmmer-mnn. Zlmmer-mnn. Jack Pierce and Dr. Bryan. Nothing helps like good support from tho bleachers. A big crowd wont over from Brlgham, Brlg-ham, most of the ball team going over in automobiles. Brlgham has finally signed up Lowe for the season, nnd expects to land .in expert catcher by the name of Fuller, which will mnko a team hard to beat. Box Elder Nows.
