Show Action Ordered Tho caso of tho State of Utah, vs Walter S. Hall of Portage, arraigned on a statutary offense, came up in Jnstico Burdett Smith's court last Saturday at 11 a. m. and tho heariug continued con-tinued for nearly four hours. A hearing of the case Avas hold before Justice John Heaton. .at. Portage and a charge of venue to Smith's court was taken. Plaintiffs wore represented by Attorneys Nels Jensen and B. C. Call and Attorneys J. D. Gall and T. W. McKennoy ap- j peaml for tho defendant. H. J. Pa'cker of Ogden was sworn as official stenographer. Elizabeth Allen, Isaac Allen I and Emma Alford were sworn as witnesses. Miss Allen was put under a rigid cross examination exami-nation for nearly one and one-half one-half hours. After a thorough cross ox-j amination of all tho witnesses, ' tho action was ordered dismiss-! ed on tho grounds of insufficient I evidence to justify defendant's being bound over. |
