Tho indebtedness of Vohr to tho government Is nllogcd to havo amounted amount-ed to $1C,C33.S0. Tho stock and other property of Vohr wero seized after a raid of his underground manufactory, at No. 6902 Hamilton avenue, last spring. As a manufacturer Vohr Is required to pay a special tax of $G00 for each yoar anil ten cents for eacn pouna oi colored oleomargarine ho mado. It is charged that ho failed to pay elthor. Vohr was sentenced to pay a 500 fino and to sorve '18 months In tho Allegheny Alle-gheny county workhouso. An appeal to tho United Statos circuit cir-cuit court of appeals, whoro the caso Is now pending, was taken by Vohr. and the sentenco has not been carried car-ried into effect. |
