Holbrook nnd Robinson Saturday morning, morn-ing, it had been found that the wounds wero very serious. Jones had been struck ou tho forehead, J utt about uti inch above the left eye, nud from this wound the surgeons took a piece of the skull about the size of a dollar, In addition addi-tion to a largo quantity of congealed blood. From this hole tho skull wits craeked iu various directions, testifying to the force of tho blow. MeCandless was arrested Friday and the effort was niado Saturday and today to have him allowed his freedom on ball,. To this, however, neither tho sheriff nor the county attorney would consent, and when Jones died tonight, Sheriff Jesse llnrinou took his prisoner to Provo.
