| Show DIST GOVERNOR VISITS BRIGHAM the weekly luncheon of the rotary club ot of this city was advanced this week from friday noon to wednesday evening and the members were favored with the presence of 0 district governor charles mccarthy of boise idaho and a number of 0 brigham cites talented musicians the musical program was most attractive and the sweet voices of the singers held the rotarians lans spellbound spell bound during the rendition of 0 this part ot of the program the musical pr program consisted ot of guettes by miss dor doris as boothe and clara watkins accompanied by mrs E W watkins and solos by mrs connle connie M peters accompanied by miss edith pearson following the luncheon governor mccarthy delivered an able address on the high ideals upon which rotary Is founded bringing out the leading points by an occasional story he stated that while in montana recently his attention was drawn by a friend to 10 som some 0 great electrical generators ani the party inferred that the inventor of such a wonderful piece of mechanism was the greatest man in the world he felt that while these great generators had great material power such power might be turned to the use of destruction just as well as asto to the furnishing of power tor for industrial purposes the speaker speake r felt that in tary there Is a still greater power a moral power generating in the hearts ot of man a friendly cooperative spirit this great power ot of rotary the speaker continued Is working in all lands and among all peoples ot of the earth in mexico where rotary clubs are organized gani zed there Is growing a more moie friendly feeling among the people for the citizens of other nations and by this same influence the governments are bing being brought closer in touch with one another the speaker stated that rotary should not be overburdened with too much responsibility as there were the chambers of commerce and other organizations to carry their part of the responsibility of the affairs of the community he stated that while the interest of the boys rests reals largely with |
