Admiral Mason shows that more than $12,000,000 ha3 been cut out ot tho estimates nnd ho describes the condition of the bureau "as llttlo short or desporato" for the coming year. He says thcro Is not now nnd will not ba any reservo ammunition avallablo for any of tho Important guns. It will be nccossary probably to discontinue tnr-get tnr-get practice, and now ships must be sent Into commission without ammunition ammu-nition or ordnance stores. |
