Show ROAD PROGRAM DISCUSSED BY OFFICIALS commissioners brigham wright glit J J craner and EnIg engineer ineer K X C wright were in salt lake on friday ot of last week tor for the purpose of discussing with the state road commission the matter of building a hard surfaced highway from this city to the railroad crossing east of corinne this year the county has the funds sufficient to take care of its end of the expense and if the federal department will insure the other part in fit all the road will be constructed the conference on terence developed the that the construction should not eni end at the railroad crossing but should continue right up to corinne according to the plan this would entail the construction of a new bridge across dear bear river and the grading of about a mile of road for the plan proposes that the state highway follow the railroad on the north side right into corinne the matter ot of a new bridge across the river is one that must be attended to in the very near future at any rate because of the disintegrated condition of the present structure and the engineers are seeking to eliminate curves in the road avoid railroad crossings and in every way straighten the highway and make it as sate safe as possible the entire project is now awaiting action on the part of the federal road department which must designate the highways upon which federal money can call be expended this route has been recommended but as yet has not been accepted officially |
