Show THE LEGION SHOW the liberty theatre was packed to the lobby last night at the presentation of the musical extravaganza piff palf pout by the american legion ol of ogden under the direction of 0 the brigham ham city post of the same organization the cast of the show was made up of 0 ogden people and while some clever work done there was no pretense at made that the production alc plc pleased was evidenced by the reception given the performers tile the singing however was not extraordinary though pleasing the work of 1 miss josephine shorten w was as the best in the vocal line her rendition ot of 0 promise me alle in the second act being a real gem mr leslie saville sang better as the show proceeded and he shared with miss shorten the vocal honors the chorus work was good though not what might have been expected and things could have moved a little more snappy which would have resulted in not only a saving ot of time but also in III generating greater enthusiasm the orchestra was superb and was a big bifi factor in earring the production so that detects defects were othe otherwise fwise overlooked the cast was entirely an amateur one and it if a person was intimately acquainted with each performer added interest and enjoyment in the production would have naturally resulted the show was admirably staged and costumed the scenic artist being our own amos larsen and costumes were furnished by new york and salt lake costume houses the brigham post of the american legion participated in the receipts ot of the production and is to be commended tor for its enterprise in bringing in something out of 0 the ordinary to provide an evenings entertainment and relaxation |
