Show SOCIETY the civic improvement club met thursday afternoon at the home of mrs birs C W knudson A special invitation was extended to the kindergan ten tell club to be present that they might hear a lecture on home management which was to be given by mrs rena B maycock of the A C due to unavoidable delay mrs maycock was unable to be present komrs lydia H tanner of 0 tile the weber academy acted as minute anute man to fill her place in talking on the care of 0 children mrs tanner said that nearly seventy per cent of our present children between the ages ot of 1 and 12 years were under weight due to a lack ot of vita mines mined in their daily diet she claimed that each child should take one I 1 quart ot of uncoil ed milk a day and also have in its diet a goodly supply ot of I 1 eggs butter oranges lettuce dried prunes and raisins mrs tanner also i i advised the use ot of the budget system in keeping accounts in every household following the lecture the club passed on a motion to install lighting fix fixtures t ures in the tabernacle park which is now being beautified tor for public use A committee composed of 0 mrs dunn mrs J W peters and mrs R T willey avilles was placed in charge of that wor work k it was next decided that the club should take charge of 0 the Y W C A drive in this city during tile the next two weeks mrs C E fowler mrs kirk martin and miss bliss nadine duain were named for this work the club voted to take charge of 0 the first merchants lunch to be given at the commee ial club soon after tile the opening ot of its new quarters mrs W 0 knudson was appointed as head 0 of the committee A motion was also made to raise the clubs membership tee fee to one dollar and the monthly dues to twenty five cents the following new ivar voted in mrs airs C E fowler mrs birs W H gleave cleave mrs J H clive mrs frank C holman mrs D B baron baro n miss bliss rae knudson and miss bliss nadine dunn Refresh refreshments mens were served by mrs P F C hultquist
