Conraad Maag, justice of the peace cf Lake View precinct was a Provo visitor today. Carl Swensen, constable of Lake View precinct brought over from there today one M. P. Nielsen, a young man against whom there is a very serious charge lodged. It is alleged that yesterday yes-terday afternoon at about 2 o'clock as John F. Anderson who is an old man and a little deaf was driving his cattle to water young Nielsen sneaked up behind him and uttering an oath said: "You gray headed s of a b , I couldn't get you yesterday, but I'll get you now" raised some sort of a weapon and brought it down heavily heav-ily over the old man's head, cutting an ugly gash over the right eye. The trouble between the two men is said to be some family or neighborhood quarrel that has been on for some time. Fbank E. McGcbrin of Salt Lake has brought suit in the First District court for judgment on a note and for foreclosure or a chattle mortgage given to secure payment ot the eame. The note was signed by P. C. Jensen Jr. of Fairview, Sanpete county and was made in fayor of one James Thompson and has since bren purchased by Mc-Gurrin. Mc-Gurrin. The alleged amount due is JS00 00 and interest since December 26, 1893. |
