Show At Wiflgen, in New South Wales, about 200 miles from Sydney, ia a burning burn-ing mountain, one of the most remarkable remark-able sights to be seen in Australia. It is 1,820 feet in height and is supposed to be a large coal seam which has in some unaccountable way become ignited and has been burning for many years, certainly cer-tainly long before the advent of the white man in this portion of the colony. The course of the fire can be traced a considerable distance by the numerous depressions or chasms occasioned by the falling in of the ground from beneath which the cpal has been consumed. Smoke is continually issuing from the tides of the mountain, and in the vicinity vicin-ity of these openings the surface is hct and has a dry, parched appearance., while sticks thrust into these openings are very readily ignited.
