Mustard was the victem of a very clever robbery rob-bery which was committed between the 20th and 24th' of January, but! which has been kept etill in the hopes that thereby some c'ue might be obtained ob-tained that would lead to the identity of the robber. The amount obtained was one hundred dollars in currency and ;old coin, which the doctor was keeping by Iiim as he expected at any moment to be called east on account of the sickness of his father. So particular particu-lar was he that he carried it in ids pocket fur some time, but on the 20th of January he laid the pocket-book in a drawer. On the 24th, having; occasion to use some money, he went to the drawer and found the pocket book, but the money had vanished. Just on which of the four days it waa taken he cannot tell. The whole thing is a mystery mys-tery for the doctor does not leave his office of-fice more than three hours a day, and then from 7 to 10 o'clock in the even ing. The lobber, whoever he may be.is . evidently well acquainted with the premises, and is very clever, for a cash box containing $300.00 of government mo.iey was near by and cou'd have ju?t as easily been taken, but with the exception of twenty dollars was left untouched. The thief seemingly had ' no desire to have the government after i him. The matter was placed in the hands of the f fficers, and kept quiet in the honaa that thereby some clue : would be obtained that wouid lead to I the capture of the thief, but to date he lias not been apprehended. The doctor has very strong suspicions as to who" the party is, but will not divulge them unless he obtains evidence enough to convict I lie will pay twenty five dollars reward for t he apprehension and conviction of the thief. j I Last Tuesday the remains of "Wil- 1 liam Warner, one of our old time resi dents, was laid to rest in the cemetery, his spirit having flown to the great be y nd Sunday night, January 2Sth. The deceased was born in Gosbarton, Lincolnshire. Lin-colnshire. England, April 24. 182G. He was baptized into the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, March 16, 1S52, and emigrated to Utah in 1S53, and soon after settled in Spanish Fork, whet e he continuously resided up to his death. He took an active part id defending and building up our city in its infancy. He was for several years county road supervisor, as well as supervisor su-pervisor of our city streets, and to him much credit is due for the excellent roads we enjoy today. He remained true to the principles of the gospel to the end, and leaves a wife, fourteen ; children and forty-one grandchildren to mourn his demise. Your correspondent is surprised to learn of a probable divorce case that i? peem'iigly under headway. There seems to be trouble between Nephi Hansen, aj;?nt for the Consolidated Im plement company, and his wife. At least they have separated, which if creatine a general surprise, for it was supposed thai they were very congenial and lived happily together. The schools are crowded full again this term. In the thirteen schools the enrollment is 755. J. I. Hayes has It-'en engaged to take the place of Lee Bradford, who recently left for a foreign for-eign mission.
