Show At the Tabernacle. At the Latter-day saints worship services ser-vices in the tabernacle yesterday, the house was crowded to its utmost capacity. capa-city. The DisPATCn announced that President Geo. Q. Cannon, Elders Geo. Renyolds and Geo. Goddard would visit the academy and it was of course expected they would be Lhe speakers at the tabernacle. The gentlemen all spoKe on different subjects pertinent to the day. This was especially so by President Cannon, he was listened to with deep interest, his subject being the necessity of home instruction by the parents, especially on the part of the mother. She ought not to allow public duties to infringe on her home daties. She can accomplish grander results by judicious home training than by any public labor she may be engaged in. This is also applicable in a measure, to me f.-ither. lie ought to give some time to home under all cir cumstances except unavoidable absence or sickness. Elder Goddard closed his remarks by singing that popular song "Who's on the Lord's Side Who?" Mr.Goddard even though an elderly gentleman, proves himself as owning a good strong and truly melodious voice. The audience joined in the chorus with a harmonious vim that was soul stirring. The piece was written by one of our Utah county poets, Mrs. Hannah Cornaby of Spanifh Fork. The lady has a large collection of gems that are found in most of our libraries and is much prized. |
