Show . STEALING CHICKENS. Two Tramps Caught in the Act and Arrested. Ou Thursday night, about 12 o'clock, Jake Westphal, who lives cl.ise to the depot, received a visit from chicken thieves. Two tramps, evidently hungry, hun-gry, with a partiality for chicken, appropriated ap-propriated three of Mr. Westphal'g feathered flock. Westphal heard the racket made by the chickens, and arose frm hi3 peaceful slumbers, to see what was the matter. Taking his shot gun with him, antWaeing the tramp sneaking off,--ijk' pnished them to stop, nd then marched them up to the depot, where Mr. Allied took them in charge. They were before Justice Noon yesterday and were sentenced to 15 days each in the city jail. A Credit to Canadian Journalism.
