Show I WILLIAM EWELL of Helper aged 24 years this morning procured a license to marry Elyira Bigelow of f rovo aged 16 years JA3IES WALTERS and James ONeil strangers in town and claiming to bail from Superior got too much tangle foot aboard yesterday They will work upon our streets five days each FRIENDS of Rush Benson had to put up 1000 with Marshal Knight last evening to procure Bensons release from the city bastile Benson comes over from the Lake Bottoms occasionally occasion-ally and loads up Invariably he becomes be-comes ahusive profane and very foulmouthed foul-mouthed He was entirely unbearable yesterday and the marshal J ran him in M M WAKNKK superintendent of the Jim Blaine Mining company operating oper-ating in the Marsh Peak Mining district dis-trict in the Uintahs returned to Provo last evening Superintendent Warner says that he is as much convinced as ever that his companvs mines especially es-pecially the Dead Mans lode is rich as rich as the samples of ore assayed indicate it to be He has erected a cabin run u tunnel into the Dead Mans lode and has done assessment work on the other claims There is very much ore already on the dump aud five miners are steadily at work now There are some suspicions that the samples brought m and assayed have been salted but Mr Warner does not share them although some of the men interested with him m the company com-pany appear to do A consultation will be had and an assayer with a complete com-plete outfit taken to the ground and an absolutely anuuratn tent marIA 01 toe ore as it is taken from the mountain Mr Warner says that in all his extended ex-tended experience in mines and mining camps he never saw anything that looked more like a rich paying mine than does the Dead Mans lode Ruin BENSON of the Lake Bottoms picked up a quarrel with Walters and OJSeil his partners in jail last even ing while the marshal was at supper Benson got an awful drubbing MRS GEORGE RYNDERS of Salt Lake is visiting friends in Provo MRS Jos A HYDE of Nephi was one of the many visitors in Provo yester dayTHE THE Bosbard and Pyne Brothers quartette and the Fourth Ward glee club did some particularly nice singing yesterday which delighted the immense throng in the tabernacle PROFESSORS CLUFF and Giles and their families are rusticating jn the mountains the professors and their families coming down every day to the summer school |
