Manager Birch says that the change will not slow up mining operations on the ore to any extent but It will mean a temporary stopping of deep prospecting In the No. 1 workings of the mine. Most of the ore which Is now being mined at the Iron Bloseom Is being handled by lessees and the showing underground Is said to be quite favorable. Some of the lessees are doing exceptionally well, having ore of excellent grade, while others are shipping ore of a lower grade to the Tlntlc mill. Officials of the Iron Blossom company say extensive mining operations wills be resumed for this property early In the coming summer In the event the outlook Is more promising for this Industry. To Settle Mineral Title Oil Applications Are Flooding Land Office suit Involving .. the title to mineral land In the eastern end of the Tlntlc District was up for trial last week In the district court at Provo. James Gatley and Joseph Melchllch, both of Eureka, have contested one of the applications for patent from the Tlntlc Standard Mining company, alleging that the same is in conflict with three claims which they own. .This ground Is to the south of the main holdings of the Tlntlc Standard Mining company. It la understood that the case In ,the district court has been postponed until later In the month. , A. Luncheon Planned For Mine Bosses o Industrial commission has called mining men together for general discussion; meeting in Eureka on Saturday. -- o In order to secure an exchange of Ideas with the bosses In the metal mines of the Tlntlc District on mat- ters pertaining to the safety and welfare of employees, tha Industrial Commission has arranged for a buffet luncheon and smoker at the Bullion Beck Hotel, Eureka, for Saturday night. Cards hava been sent out superintendents of the mines or distribution among the bosses It Is hoped that a valuable d laCU8Boa of the safety of mines wUl result. In addition to tha mine superintendents and foremen, the shift bosses, master mechanics, chief electricians and chief clerks ara invited and there will be no chargee or collections. The Commission la requesting that those who do not receive the regular cards notify Mr. I. J. Barnard, Chief Clerk of the Centennial Eureka mine, not later than Saturday morning, February 19 th, so that proper arrangements can be made for the entertainment The Industrial Commission has found from a study of Its records that many accidents are due to carelessness or laxness on the part of employees, and the number from this source Is greater than from tha lack of proper safeguards provided by the mining companies. In an effort to revive the spirit of safety in the men and secure the cooperation of the bosses, the Commission is arranging for meetings of this kind in the mining camps of the state. Many of the bosses also ara not fully aware of the provisions of ths Compensation Act which aids them In maintaining tha proper dlclpllne regarding safety metiers In the . le mines. The meeting In Eureka will last from 7.30 to 9.80 o'clock on the night mentioned, and It la expected that a valuable Interchange of Ideas will result Mining Companies Submit Figures To State Board A number of mining companies of Tlntlc have submitted figures to the state board of equalization: Tha Bingham Mlnea company (Victoria) of Juab county filed a statement showing the proceeds of Mammoth People At Work last year and the value of the proOn Golden Sunset Claims perty.
