Show I Obituaries Page B5 The Summit County Bee October 20, 2006 Osias LaVern White Osias LaVern White or Vern as he was known, passed away Oct. 17, 2006, in Sail Lake City, at age 82. Born Jan. 7, 1924, in Porterville, Morgan, a son of Lester F. White and Susan Kilbourn. He married Beth Morton in Coalville on June 1, 1944. This marriage was later sealed Oct. 29, 1952, in the Salt Lake Temple. During World War II, he served his country in the Pacific Theater. He was stationed in the Philippines at Bageo and one year in Japan with the Occupation Forces. He also served in the Army Reserve for 37 years and as a civilian with the Department of the Army, 96th ARCOM for 25 years. LaVern. was a faithful servant of the Lord. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served in many positions with the Elders Quorum, High Priests Quorum and Clerk in the Bishopric for 8 years. He then rounded out his service serving a Stake Mission, LaVern was proud of the cabin in the Uinta Mountains that he and Beth built. Preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Rhoda Briggs, Lindon Snyder, Orlo Snyder, Carroll Snyder and Renae Johnson, and granddaughter, Kamie Lee Snyder. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Oct. 20, at 11 a.m., at the Daniels Ward located on 715 East 600 South, Heber City.
