Hospital facilities have not ing to for them, nor money available for care tjeen adequate sufficient medical service. In some cases men who k or the terrible experiences through through which they passed on the firing line have become slightiy unbalanced have been put into asylums with insane and vicious patients. The pity mid horror of such a condition almost strikes the heart cold. Judicious use of the proposed appropriation will minimize, if not entirely eliminate, this lamentable situation. That, in a nutshell, is the constitutional amendment offered in congress by Representative Arthur of Oregon. Theres much to be said in favor of that proposal. When the nation was young and scattered over a wide area of roadless, railless land it may have been all right to have the inauguration four months after the election. These, however, are speedier days. One jumps across the continent in less than a week. It will not.be long before new presidents airplane from the Pacific to Washington the day before inauguration day. A month is plenty long enough to give & new president to pack his trunk and write his speech. It wasnt an ordinary married man. This man was divorced, but he still loved his wife very dearly. He admitted it, although she was married to another man. He wanted to marry her again and said he could do It very easily, as she wanted to marry him, but the other man was in the way. The writer said that he and his wife had lived together happily, but had obtained a divorce In September, 1920, receiving an Interlocutory degree. They have one little girl. In November, 1920, his divorced wife had married another man. In view of the fact that the degree was but Interlocutory, the woman had no right to marry anybody but him inside of six months, and on this ground the writer asked whether or not he could have the second mar- riage annulled.. There was another turn apparent, however. In his seal to pile up evidence In his case the man declared that he and his wife had Intended to marry again when they made the divorce contract Now they want to carry out that contract Mr. Cluff advised the writer that a contract between husband and wife to get a divorce makes It . illegal. However, the mans contention that his wifes second marriage was Illegal was correct In the opinion of the attorney general. He suggested that action be. taken to have the second marriage annulled; that the couple get married again, start over and be careful In the future about contract divorces..
