Page 7 The Gunnison Valley Gazette Gunnison City is accepting applications for a Full-Time School Resource Officer Job Vacancy South Sanpete School District Minimum qualifications The following position has been declared open for the 2011-12 school year: Must be a POST certified category 1 Peace Officer. Must have a minimum of three years of law enforcement experience. Must work well with Youth. If you do not currently hold certifications as a School Resource Officer and as a DARE Officer must be willing to complete this training. Applicants who posses any or all of the following may be given preference. Certification by NASRO or equivalent as a School Resource Officer. Past / Present experience in the position of a School Resource Officer. Certification as a DARE Officer. Experience working with youth in a law enforcement capacity. This Officer will be a full time employee of the Gunnison City Police Department and will work in the Gunnison Valley Schools, under the direction of the Gunnison City Police Department and the South Sanpete School District. This is a full time Law Enforcement position with benefits. The successful applicant will be required to reside in the Gunnison / Centerfield area. The Salary range for this position is $16.00 - $19:00 / hr plus benefits.
