Show Page 6 The Gunnison Valley Gazette Thursday, November 13, 2008 Football Recognition Night For all football players and their parents Thursday November 13 • 6 p.m. High School Lunchroom Refreshments will be served The Gunnison Valley Hospital and Hospice volunteers presented the hospital with a gift of two TV screens and two DVD/VCR players. Money to purchase these items was raised through volunteer fundraising activities. The TVs and players are on carts that are easily transported into patients’ rooms so they can watch movies during their hospital stay. The volunteers would like to collect DVD and VHS movie donations from the community, in order to have a large selection for patients. If you would like to make a donation, please take your movies to hospital volunteer desk located in the front lobby. The volunteer organization at Gunnison Valley Hospital has grown considerably over the past few years. There are now 24 Hospital and 17 Hospice volunteers. Greg Rosenvall, hospital administrator, expresses appreciation to the volunteers for their efforts and dedication in helping patients and staff at the hospital. Sevier County Economic Development is hosting two orientation sessions to help interested parties understand how best to compete for the $20,000 award available through an upcoming business innovation contest called “Concept to Company.” These free one-hour orientation sessions will be held in the basement auditorium of the Sevier County Administration building at 250 North Main Street in Richfield on Friday, November 14, 2008 at noon and repeated at 5 P.M. Grow Utah Ventures, Zions Bank and USTAR are the primary organizes of the Southern Utah “Concept to Company” contest, which will focus on expanding southern Utah’s technology industry. The winning entry will receive a $20,000 award, comprised of cash and the equivalent value in consulting or prototype services to help bring the idea to fruition. Additionally, two runners-up will also receive $10,000 awards each, comprised of cash and services. Submissions are being accepted until December 10, 2008 at 7 AM. The awards will be given out on stage on January 14, 2008 at the Washington County Economic Summit in St. George, Utah.
