Show Thursday, November 13, 2008 Society The Gunnison Valley Gazette Missionary Awards Elder Spencer Hansen Kailee Davis Elder Spencer Mariel Hansen has been called to the Independence, Missiouri Mission, Spanish speaking. Elder Hansen spoke in the Centerfield 2nd Ward on Sunday, November 9, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Axtell Church. He will enter the MTC in Provo on November 19, 2008. Elder Hansen is the son of LaRell C. and Debbie Hansen. He is the grandson of the late Mariel O. and Etta Hansen of Centerfield and Norma Pelton of Redding, California. First Birthday Isaac Jason Mellor Isaac celebrated his first birthday on Nov. 11, 2008. He had a big party that day with all his family. Isaac is the son of Jason and Alicia Mellor of Centerfield. His grandparent’s are Neil and Kelly Sue Mellor of Fayette, and Kim and Julie Lund of Centerfield. His great-grandparents are Deloyd and Arva Lund of Gunnison, Bevan and Ruth Johnson of Cottonwood Heights, and Kelly and Sheila Dutton of Hurricane. Isaac is a sweetheart with a smile that brightens everyday. He has an energetic little personality, and keeps his mommy and daddy on their toes! He loves to play outside, tries to climb on everything, and loves 4-wheeler rides. Isaac is such a fun little guy and we are so thankful to have him in our family. Happy Birthday Isaac, we love you! 80th Birthday Nedra D. Stewart Kailee DarThel Davis earned her Young Womanhood Recognition Award on November 9, 2008. Kailee has enjoyed working on her experiences and projects. A few of her favorite projects were making blankets for the Richfield Dialysis Center, planting and growing her family garden and making her personal history scrapbook for two years. Kailee’s excited to receive this award and would like to thank the leaders and family members who helped her along the way. Kailee is the daughter of Russell and Leda Stoker. The granddaughter of Frank and Page 3 Wedding DarThel Pike, Carolyn and the late Duane Stoker, and Howard and Margie Davis. Kade Caldwell Kade Caldwell received his Eagle Scout Award on November 8, 2008. For his Eagle Scout project he painted the curbs and fire hydrants all down main street, to the Gunnison Elementary School. Kade would like to thank all those who spent time helping him with his project, from friends, scout leaders and family members. Kade is a member of the Gunnison 1st Ward and is in Scout Troop 564. He is the son of Kay C and Kim Caldwell of Gunnison. Congratulations, Kade! Matthew Harris Matthew Harris will receive his Eagle Scout Award on Sunday November 16, 2008. He is a member of the Gunnison 2nd Ward Scout Troop 564. For his Eagle Scout project he laid rubber matting on the high school weight room floor. Matthew would like to thank all those who came out to help him with his project. He would also like to thank his Scout leaders that he has had throughout the years. Matthew is the son of Fred and Christine Harris. Anderson - Tam Ardean and Melody G. Anderson are pleased to announce the marriage of their daughter Brittany Jean Anderson to Edison Tam, son of May Tam and Maria Tam. Brittany is a graduate of Gunnison High School in 2000 and Snow College in 2003. After serving an LDS mission in Richmond, Virgina from 2004-2005, she attended the University of Utah where she completed her Bachelor Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science in 2007. While attending the University of Utah she met Edison Tam who was also completing his schooling to be a Clinical Laboratory Scientist. Edison is a 1990 graduate of Cyprus High School and a 2002 graduate of Salt Lake Community College. He also completed his Bachelors Degree at the University of Utah in 2006. He is currently working for ARUP’s Transfusions Services at the University of Utah Hospital. The couple will begin their new life together in West Valley City. Grandparents of the bride are Erma Anderson and the late Roy Anderson of Mayfield and Joan Glade and the late Keith Glade of South Jordan. A reception will be held in their honor on November 22nd between 6 and 8 p.m. at the Gunnison City Hall, 38 West Center Street, Gunnison. Stewart would sincerely like to thank the community of Gunnison Valley and the surrounding areas for their kindness and compassion in the passing of their husband, father, and grandfather. Stewart are happy to announce the 80th birthday of their mother on November 12, 2008. She was the second of four children born to Forrest and Geniel Denison in Manti, Utah. She married Lamar H. Stewart on September 29, 1948, in the Manti Temple. Prior to the love of her life passing away on October 22, 2008, they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. The family would like to invite you to stop by their mothers home and visit with her at your convenience. The family will celebrate her birthday with a family dinner. Notice!
