Sorenson will be retiring. An open house in her honor will be held in the bank lobby on Wednesday the 25th of June 2008 from noon until 3 p.m. Friends and family are invited to spend that time with her and express their love and thanks for an amazing career. cruises and trips with family and friends. Shirley is survived by her brother Frank (Sharon) Willardson, West Valley; children: Russell (Rebecca) Thompson, Centerfield; Rachelle (Troy) Peterson, Ryan (Chontae) Thompson, Robyn (Craig) Kalikakis, all of Gunnison; and eight grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Connie Funk, and granddaughter, Heather Peterson. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 20, 2008 at 12:00 Noon in the Gunnison Stake Center (80 W Center). Friends may call Thursday evening at the Gunnison Stake Center from 6-8 p.m. and again Friday morning 10:30 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Gunnison City Cemetery. Sorenson Shirley May Willardson Shirley Willardson, 62, our beloved mother, sister, grandmother and best friend passed away on June 15, 2008 surrounded by her family. Shirley was born February 23, 1946 to Earl and Maysie Anderson Willardson of Gunnison, Utah. Shirley graduated from Gunnison Valley High School and then attended cosmetology school in Salt Lake City. Shirley was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held several positions over the years. She was involved in P.T.A. and scouting for many years. Shirley worked as a meat wrapper with Ivan Peterson until his death and changed jobs to a cook for Six Counties for many years and loved everyone she met. She later worked for Utah State University at CUCF. She changed to South Sanpete School District working at the Central Utah Academy doing what she loved, helping people better themselves. Shirley discovered she had cancer in 1995 and through strength, courage and prayer she overcame the disease. She was involved in the Cancer Relay for Life and was looking forward to her survivor walk at the end of the month. Her greatest love of all was her grandchildren. They were the love of her life and she would do anything for them. Shirley loved the outdoors, camping, fishing, 4-wheeler riding and working in her yard. She loved to travel and loved taking Page 3 Graduation Reynolds - Ball Whitney A. Reynolds and Krysten Anne Ball will be married on June 20th in the Manti LDS Temple. A reception will be held in their honor that evening at the Jensen residence at 130 West 100 South, Centerfield, Utah from 6:308:30 p.m. Incase of inclement weather the reception will be held at the Centerfield Church, 210 South Main. The parents of the bride are Larry and Rhonda Ball of Parowan. The parents of the groom are Jim and Wendy Reynolds of Centerfield. Whitney is the grandson of Arno and Ranee Jensen of Centerfield, and Jim and Effie Reynolds of Salina. After a cruise to Mexico, the couple will reside in Cedar City. Deven and his wife Shirlyn (daughter of Sherwin and Debbie Sorensen and granddaughter of Irma Sorensen) have moved to Hawaii were Deven will complete his residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Tripler Army Medical Center near Honolulu. Deven’s parents are Rick and Eydie Cox of Provo and grandparents are Dell and Kay Cox of Provo. She is home and doing well. Brooke and Tyler Blackburn are the parents of a new daughter, Bryler, on June 2, 2008. Bryler has a sister, Belle, and two brothers, Ty and Chaps, welcoming her. Kaitie Heath, BreeAuna Davis, Bryant Davis, Monique Despain, Chad Boore and Audrey Boore recently returned from a week to southern California with Jeana’s Dance Works. The Dance Works members danced at California Adventure on Monday June 2 and at Universal Studios on Wednesday June 4. The dancers did a great job with both performances. Time was spent at Disneyland, California Adventure, and Universal Studios. On Thursday they traveled to San Diego to Sea World, San Diego Wild Animal Park and the beach. The Axtell young men and women traveled to Moab for Youth Conference on June 1618. They went rafting on the Colorado River and stayed in a cabin just out of Moab for the conference.
