She weighed 6 pounds 13 ounces and will be named Izabell Debbie Dever. On Feb. 19, 2005 a girl was born to Robert and Candice Shelley of Mt. Pleasant. She weighed 7 pounds 15 ounces and will be named Hope Lynn Shelley. On Feb. 23, 2005 a girl was born to Tony Tharp and Shelly McPherson of Mt. Pleasant. She weighed 8 pounds and will be named Jordyn Lyn Tharp. On Feb. 23, 2005 a girl was born to Jeremy and Mindy Andreasen of Ephraim. She weighed 6 pounds 4 ounces and will be named Payten Sierra Andreasen. Cameron Gregory Sterner, son of Greg and Lindsey Sterner of Manti, celebrated his first birthday Monday, Feb. 21, 2005. Grandparents are Jeff and Marie Anderson and Tom and Fay Truitt all of Manti, and Gary and Suzette Sterner of Las Vegas, Nev. Great-grandparents are Valear Anderson and Dora Anderson of Moroni and LaRue Sterner of Salt Lake City. First ~ Natalie Buchanan Natalie Buchanan, the daughter of Matt and Linda Buchanan of Cordova, Tenn., celebrated her first birthday on Sunday, Feb. 27. Natalie is the granddaughter of Steven and Suzanne Buchanan of Gunnison and Bruce and Charlotte Archdean of Mullington, Tenn. She had a fun day with her family. WEDDINGS Peterson~Williams Joseph Leslie Heath, 42, of Axtell passed away Feb. 25, 2005, in Axtell. He was born May 22, 1962, in Kodiak, Alaska, to Charles Gail and Joe Ann Poulson Heath. He married Sandra Lea Boore June 6, 1980, in Redmond. Joe enjoyed spending his time outdoors. He loved to take rides in his jeep, go geo-caching, and go camping and hunting with his family. He liked to spend time working on his jeep. His greatest treasures were his wife and children. He is survived by his wife, Sandra, Axtell; children, Brett Heath, Axtell; Steven (Tanesha) Heath, Gunnison; Mitchell, Brooke and Katie Heath, all of Axtell; parents, Gail and Joe Ann Heath, Redmond; mother-in-law, Audrey Boore, Axtell; brothers, Randall (Tina) Heath, Mountain Green, Utah; Russell (Mavis) Heath, Redmond; and C.G. (Brenna) Heath, Joseph Leslie Heath Redmond. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Alfred Earl Boore. Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 1, 2005, in the Axtell LDS Ward Chapel. Burial was in the Centerfield Cemetery under the direction of Magleby-Jensen Mortuary, Salina, Gunnison and Manti. Alice Hansen Natalie Buchanan First ~ McKinnly Lynn DeMill McKinnly Lynn DeMill, The daughter of Trent and Angie DeMill of Manti, celebrated her first birthday with family and friends on Feb. 25, 2005. McKinnly loves to give kisses, read her books, and torture her cat. McKinnly is the granddaughter of Duane DeMill, Manti, Stephanie Beckstead, Salt Lake City, and the late David and Jackie Olsen. OBITUARIES Joseph Leslie Heath Cameron Gregory Sterner BIRTHDAYS Wednesday, March 2, 2005 Joshua Williams and Tina Jane Peterson McKinnly Lynn DeMill Great-great-grandparents are LaRue Sterner, Salt Lake City, and Carl and Orvilla Braithwaite, Manti. Jeffery and JaNell Peterson of Lyman are pleased to announce the marriage of their daughter, Tina Jane, to Joshua Steven Mahonri Williams, the son of Ernie and Mable Williams of Ephraim, on March 4, 2005 in the Manti Utah Temple. An open house will be held in their honor that evening from 5-7 p.m. at the home of the groom’s parents at 223 East 200 N. in Ephraim. There will also be a reception on March 5 in Lyman at the Lyman LDS church from 6:30-9 p.m. Tina and Joshua met while attending Snow College and will make their first home in Ephraim while they continue their education. Larsen Hansen, 97, of Mayfield and Gunnsion passed away Feb. 23, 2005, at her daughter, Joye’s, home in Gunnison. She was born April 9, 1907 in Mayfield to Hans Christian and Rebecca Estella Christiansen Larsen. She married Lester Hansen, Nov. 25, 1925, in the Salt Lake Temple. He preceded her in death Oct. 20, 2003. Alice was an active member of the LDS Church where she served in many callings; Relief Society president, Sunday School coordinator, Primary teacher, chorister, long time visiting teacher and supervisor, and Manti Utah Temple worker for 13 years. Alice and Lester were honored as Utah’s longest married couple, being married from 1925 to 2003. Lester and Alice were invited to sing at many weddings, funerals and at church. Lester and Alice resided at their daughter, Joye Hanson’s, home for a number of years until their deaths. Their presence blessed the home daily and their absence will be greatly felt. It was a joy and a pleasure for the family to have the couple in their home. She is survived by her children, Joye A. Hanson, Donald R. Buchanan Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend, Donald R. Buchanan, 96, of Gunnison, returned to the loving arms of his Heavenly Father Feb. 26, 2005, in Gunnison. Don was born Dec. 6, 1908, in Manti to Raphael Simms and Margret May Braithwaite Buchanan. He made his home in the Gunnison Valley from the time his family moved to Centerfield in 1918. He married Julia Modeen on June 23, 1937 in the Manti Utah Temple. Don loved Gunnison Valley. It was his favorite place to be. He loved to plant a garden and raised his own vegetables every summer. He was a prominent businessman and owned the Gunnison drug store for many years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling and especially golf. He was dearly loved by his family and will be deeply missed. He is survived by his wife, Julia; daughter, JuLynne Buchanan, Salt Lake City; son, Scott (Brenda) Buchanan, Salt Lake City; grandsons, Jeremy Buchanan and Shaun (Lisa) Buchanan, Salt lake City; three great-grandchildren; sister, Twyla Jensen, Gunnison; and a brother, Ray Buchanan, Casper, Wyo. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 4, 2005 at noon in the Gunnison 2nd Ward LDS Chapel.
