LOCAL RESORTS John Rutter’s ‘Requiem’ The Park City Interfaith Council will present a performance of John Rutter’s “Requiem.” at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 8, at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 4595 N. Silver Spring Drive. The production will feature more than 100 local choristers of all ages. Debra Cook, co-founder of the Utah Conservatory, will be the featured soloist of this composition, which draws from the Latin Requiem Mass and inspirations of biblical references. Jonathan Griffith, the award-winning co-founder and Artistic Director of Distinguished Concerts International New York (DCINY), will conduct. Admission is $15 at the door. Park City Film: Foreign Cinema for Kids Park City Film’s Foreign Cinema for Kids program will present a free screening of Lourdes Deschamps’ feature narrative film, “Champs,” at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 8, at the Park City Library’s Jim Santy Auditorium, 1255 Park Ave. On Oct. 2, 2005, in Lima, Peru, a coach and 21 soccer players made history by winning the first U-17 World Cup for Mexico. “Champs” tells the story of the struggles and the funny and sad events along with the intense preparation the players faced on th road to the World Cup. Full Moon Snowshoe at the McPolin Farm A full-moon snowshoe tour event will run from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 8, at McPolin Farm, 3000 S.R. 224. Fox School of Wine Mines and Wines Tour Fox School of Wine will start the new season of its Mines and Wines Tour from 3-5 p.m. on Saturdays. Saturday Morning Snowshoe Tour at the Swaner Preserve Saturday morning snowshoe tours are held at 8:30 a.m. every Saturday at the Swaner EcoCenter. Seed spreaders, ages 12 and older, will explore areas of the preserve that isn’t open to the public. Volunteers should come prepared with winter clothes, snow boots and gloves. NAMI Family Support Groups NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) offers free Family Support Group in Wasatch and Summit counties for family members who have loved ones struggling with mental health concerns. NAMI Family-to-Family Course NAMI’s Family-to-Family course is a free, 12-session education program for family, partners, friends and significant others of adults living with mental illness. The course, taught by trained teachers who have lived the experiences, is designed to help family members understand and support their loved one living with mental illness, while maintaining their own well-being. Class dates are April 8,15, 22 and 29; May 6,13, 20 and 27; June 3, 10, 17 and 24. The class will run from 6-8:30 pm at the Park City Library, 1255 Park Ave. in room 201.
