Torrey Green, 25, was accused by six women of being sexually assaulted while on dates with him between 2013-2015, and jurors convicted him in January of crimes that included raping five women and sexual battery of a sixth. Utah district judge Brian Cannell said during the sentencing in the northern Utah city of Brigham City that he was disappointed that Green never showed remorse, For a private showing of this or any other Park City property, please call Scott or Natalie. Richan travels with an abundance of survival gear and had enough food and water in her SUV to last another week, she said. She got stuck March 19 on a remote road in the northwest corner of the state while traveling home to Brigham City from Eureka, Nevada, the Deseret News reported . Trapped without cellphone service, she decided to stay put, spending her time collecting fire- Over 280 pet submissions and over 1400 votes. We love our pets in Park City! Richan said she likes visiting secluded locations and was expecting to get stranded one day. “I like going out in the middle of nowhere,” Richan said. “It’s just, you know if you’re going to be out there, you need to be able to survive out there.” A week after she got stuck, a pilot spotted her from his small plane and radioed searchers on the ground. “I spotted something orange, so I just went really low to look at it and saw her actually running out of the car,” pilot Ivo Zdarsky said. A snowplow driver found Richan Tuesday and freed her vehicle. She was reunited with her family in Park Valley. Richan’s daughter, Kaylee Vaughan, said it was a “terrifying and exciting” ordeal. When she got the call that her mother was OK, Vaughan said, “I almost was in shock and was kind of like, `I don’t believe you. I have to see it for myself because it’s been so long and it’s been such a crazy rollercoaster of emotions and just thoughts.’” If help had not arrived, Richan said she would have burned a spare tire and considered leaving the SUV to find shelter. “I figured I had enough food left to at least last a week, so I figured I probably had enough to at least walk out if I had to,” Richan said. Most of the sentences imposed Wednesday by for Torrey Green will run consecutively, with some to run concurrently. Skye Lazaro, Green’s attorney, asked the judge to give Green five years to life, but prosecutor Spencer Walsh countered that Green should serve time for each crime, or it would be a “terrible message” to the victims. “The defendant sexually assaulted six women,” Walsh said. “Six separate and unique individuals. Six human beings. Six lives that were traumatized and forever changed.” Before he handed down his sentence, Judge Cannell looked at the six victims seated in the courtroom and said, “I believe you.” Utahn survives bad road trip ASSOCIATED PRESS Enjoy main floor living with a private two-car garage and stunning views. The Salt Lake Tribune reported . “What you did was horrendous,” Cannell said. “In the eyes of the law, you are a serial rapist. They didn’t want it. They didn’t like it.” Green again denied the allegations during the sentencing, echoing the claim he made during the trial that the sexual encounters either were consensual or didn’t happen. Green cried while saying he wasn’t a “monster” as he was portrayed. “I am horrified at the way these women describe my encounters with each of them,” Green said. “I don’t know why these six believe that I am capable of raping them. This was all consensual. And I am so very sorry that they didn’t feel the same.” Green, of Rubidoux, California, signed as a rookie lineman for the Atlanta Falcons in 2016 after his N ed by Harrisville Police Chief Maxwell Jackson says Bell had knives in each hand and ignored multiple orders to drop the weapons, leading police to open fire. The Weber County Attorney’s Office is investigating the shooting. The officers involved have been placed on administrative leave, which is standard procedure. |
