He will be speaking at the Salem 10th Ward's sacrament service on Aug. 9 at 11 a.m. at 160 south 460 west in Salem. Brian is the son of Steven H. and Karen Boothe. Zachary Max Swenson Elder Zachary Max Swenson, son of Lyle and Jill Swenson, has recently returned from the Brazil Porto Alegre South Mission. He will speak in the Salem 2nd Ward Sacrament Meeting on Sunday, Aug. 9, at 11 a.m. Makayla Ann Layne Devin Keith Nelson This little cutie is Makayla Ann Layne. Her first birthday is Aug. 3. Her proud parents are Malynda Horton and Jason Layne of Springbrook, Wis. She is very smart, loving and points to everything and says, "what's that?" She has a smile that melts your heart. She loves to play with her toys and go shopping. She watches everything you do and tries to do it herself. She's an outdoor kid from the start when she was three days old and went on her first wheeler ride. Everyone in her town wants to tend her, they all love her very much. Makayla's proud grandparents are Anna Jean Lindsay and Steve Frost of Devin Keith Nelson, the son of Kurtis and RaeAnn Nelson and the grandson of Mark and DeLoris Nelson and Ray and Diann Hill, has been called to serve in the Brazil Sao Paulo East Mission of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He will be speaking on Sunday, August 9 at 11 a.m. in the Spanish Fork 19th Ward, located at 550 north Main Street, Spanish Fork. He will enter the Brazilian Missionary Training Center on August 12. Heaston T. Dahl Elder Heaston T. Dahl, son of Clint and Lana Dahl, has returned from the Washington Tacoma Mission. He will be giving his homecoming address in the Wolf Hollow 1st Ward, 1150 east 1240 south, Spanish Fork on August 9 at 11 a.m. All friends and relatives are invited. Welcome home Elder Dahl! Obituary Donna K. Clark Donna K. Clark passed away on Thursday, July 30 at the age of 68. She was a mother of four children and nine grandchildren, with one on the way. Donna was loved by her family and husband, Don Clark. She moved to Salem in October 2000. She loved the beauty of the area. Using her camera to capture beautiful scenic pictures, she had them bound in a book, "Footsteps with Joy," and presented it to Lew Christensen on Aug. 13,2005 at Salem Days as a gift. Donna was also known for her love of genealogy. She had a business called Ancestor Publishers. This business was started when she received a box of old papers containing genealogy information. She decided she would organize it. In addition to this box of old papers, her mother, Florence, had compiled a couple of genealogy books of different family lines, called Ancestor Keys. From these two influences , Donna began to create a business of her own called Ancestor Publishers. She designed forms to help people keep track of their family research. She also gathered information on counties such as period maps, locations of where Jill E. Thomas Hermana Jill Thomas, daughter of Philip and Janeen Thomas of Spanish Fork has returned after honorably serving the New York, New York South Spanish-speaking Mission. Her grandparents are Shirlene and the late Hyrum Ottesen of Palmyra and Douglas and Lucille Thomas of Genola. She will be speaking in the 4th Ward, 381 east 400 north, Spanish Fork on Sunday Aug. 9, at 9 a.m. Welcome home Hermana Thomas! Kade Kelly Christensen Elder Kade Kelly Christensen has been called to serve as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Dominican Republic Santo Domingo East Mission. He is the son of Kelly and Karen Christensen of Spanish Fork. His grandparents are Colleen Chappel and the late Ted Chappel of Spanish Fork, and Cheryl Christensen and the late Norris Christensen of Provo. Elder Christensen will speak in sacrament meeting on Sunday, Aug. 9, at 1 p.m. north. Elder Christensen in the Palmyra Stake Cen- will enter the Provo MTC ter building, 505 east 900 on Aug. 12. Spanish Fork and Alice and Doc Nelson of Springbrook, Wis. Her Aunt and Uncles are Nellie Horton of Payson and Kelsey and Kippy of Springbrook Wis, Her great-grandma is Leola Butler of Saleih. Laura Carr Sister Laura Carr has been called to serve in the Philippines Bacolod Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She will report to the Missionary Training Center on August 12, 2009. Sister Carr will speak on Sun.day, August 9 at 11 a.m. in the Lake Shore 2nd Ward Chapel at 5916 south 3200 west. Laura is the daughter of Dennis and Donette Carr and granddaughter of Glade and the late Marie Youd Carr of Lake Shore. Friends visit at her home following and family are invited to the meeting. Steven Nay Steven Nay is returning from the Belgium Brussels/ Netherlands Mission of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He is the son of Don and Kari Nay. He will be speaking on Sunday, Aug. 9 at 9 a.m. in the Spanish Peak Ward located at 275 south 1400 east, Spanish Fork. vital records could be found, etc. Her business grew and changed with the development of computers. She recognized the value computers would have to her business. Over time, she was offering her services on Ebay. As the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' family history program evolved and became more prominent, her business started to die down. But she never stopped doing genealogy. She worked as a consultant and librarian at the Salem West Family History Library. Donna*s funeral services will be held at 25 West Apple Blossom Way, Salem at the Apple Blossom LDS Chapel on Thursday, Aug. 6, 2009 at 11 a.m. Her viewing will be right before the services, from 9-11 ajn. •'•y<t&:;i Timothy Jens Horn Elder Timothy Jens Horn has been called to serve in the Birmingham Alabama Spanish speaking mission. He will report to the Missionary Training Center on August 12, 2009. Elder Horn will speak in the Crosswinds 2nd Ward on August 9 at 2:30 p.m. Tim is the son of Jens and Shannon Horn and the grandson of Bill and Bonnie Hubbard of San Diego.
