Salem rec. notes Salem Summer Soccer Camp Coach Lee Gillie of Salem Hills High will conduct his summer soccer camp July 27-30, 2009. Training will start at 8 a.m. for boys and girls going into 6th-8th grades. 3rd-5th graders will meet from 9:30-11 a.m. Coach Gillie will focus on ball handling, passing and movement drills in this camp. Cost is $20 and includes a t-shirt. Sign up at Salem Recreation office today. Salem Fall Youth Soccer Youth soccer for boys and girls K-8th grade will be organized in mid-August and begin play after Labor Day. Each league will play 11 scheduled games. The season will cover part of August all of September and the beginning of October. If we have enough participants we will divide leagues by gender. Early registration deadline is Friday, Aug. 14, 2009. A $10 late fee will be charged after Aug. 14,2009. .'X 0 7 * 1 ? Little Kickers Soccer •.*•.'• .; _ • * • „ • - 1 . • > - . » • • # Little kickers Soccer is a developmentally-apprbpriate introductory program for children four to five years old that prepares them for organized youth soccer in a fun, non-threatening environment. Parents work one-on-one with their child, practicing a variety of soccer skills. This program is a four-week program, with two one-hour sessions each week. A parent must be present and participate in each 'session. Two session times will be offered with a limit of 40 youth participants in each session. The Little Kicker Soccer program will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning July 28, 2009 and running through Aug. 20, 2009. Session times will be 6-7 .p.m. and 7-8 p.m. The program will be held at the Russell Swenson Memorial ballpark. The fee for this program will be $30 per participant — $35 after after July 17, 2009 with space limited to the first 40 boys and girls. Each participant will receive a Little Kicker t-shirt.
