SF track team travels to Timpview, Orem ALA Baseball Dave Boyack STAFF WRITER Spanish Fork High School track and field athletes competed in two meets this past week — the Timpview relays, where they placed second, and the Central Utah Country Invitational, where they placed seventh with a limited number of athletes. Highlights for the Dons in these two meets included Parker Cressman's 6'4" high jump effort at the relay meet. Also coming up big were the Spanish Fork shot putters and discus throwers, who combined forfirstplace efforts. Members of that group included Luke Besendorfer, Uili Makai, Tevita Vaitohi and Klint King. At Orem on Saturday, Spencer Hanson led the way with a first place finish in the 3200m run. Spencer left thefieldbehind in a pouring rain, winning by over five seconds. Spencer is ranked in the topfivein the state in the two-mile race. David Nester proved that he can move down to the shorter races by placing third in the 400 with a time of 51.2. Also having a good day was senior Jenn Youd with a third-place finish in the 400m. Jenn's time of 1:02.2 was a season best. Both meets will start at 9:15 a.m. on the above scheduled dates. Age groups will alternate through each event, with both days of events ending with relays around 1:30 p.m. Parent volunteers are need from each school.
