Having received a burning permit, a construction company set a portion of the field full of dry brush on fire for construction purposes. Not long after, the fire got out of control, consuming nearly hali of the weste/n portiop of the field. The Spanish Fork Fire Department responded, but the fire had mostly burned itself out. Firefighters did, however, inspect the area and took into account some fire hazards. On one corner of the field there was a more marshy area where construction vehicles could easily become lodged in the mud. If vehicles did become stuck and the remaining portion of the field caught fire, it would endanger the lives of the construction crew and destroy equipment. By means of a controlled burn, with a few fire trucks at the ready in case of an emergency, the fire department torched the remaining dry brush in the field to eliminate the fire hazard. Local entrepreneur unveils new game Jr. Livestock Show Christene Choate STAFF WRITER Joseph Lytie, A 22-yearold Spanish Fork resident, recently trademarked a card game, Circle Out, that he has been working on for over a year. The idea came to Lytle in January of 2008 when he thought about inventing a game in relation to economics. "What would happen if for some reason we couldn't trade with a dollar if it became worthless?" said Lytle. Lytle is attending BYU ^ ' - : - . * % , • - where he thought he would study to be an engineer, but now because his recent invention of Circle Out he is taking more business classes. Through friends in one of his business classes, he was able to design a logo and cards. His cousin designed the packaging. This game is a race among all participating players. The objective of the game is to capture the most circles of the largest size. Each card has two colored triangles. Each triangle is numbered according to color. The cards are linked together if they are the same color at opposite corners. Several cards can be linked together to form a chain. There must be three or more cards linked together in order to gain points for creating a circle. To play the game one must shuffle the cards usually 12 cards, in three rows of four. Without touching the cards, all players race to identify a circle. When you're sure you've found a circle, you must say "Circle" and take the cards See GAME • A6 " \ < , Namon Bills / Spanish Fork News TIME HONORED: The 85th Annual Utah State Junior Livestock Show will be held at the Spanish Fork Fairgrounds Wednesday, April 29-Saturday, May 2, 2009.
