Salem Hills Cheerleaders Things are coming to an end for students at Spanish Fork High School, especially for the seniors who are moving on to bigger and better things. To celebrate the end of a great year the week of April 21-25 was Senior Week. The Senior Council thought long and hard on how it should be' celebrated. "We wanted to do things that had never been done before," said senior council member Leanna Thompson, "We wanted to get more people involved. That's where we came up with the tricycle race." The week started off with a barbecue for the seniors on Monday and a tricyele race Tuesday. Wednesday was movie night with the showing of "The Emperor's New Groove." Thursday they planned a water day, but due to weather it was cancelled, and on Friday was the assembly to introduce contenders for Prom Royalty. Prom took place on Saturday. The student body was presented with an assembly in which they were introduced to the contestants for Prom Royalty. The assembly had a dating show theme, and each contestant was asked a question that related to their date. This gave the student body a chance to get to know them a little better when choosing their prom King and Queen. Prom Royalty contenders for the juniors include: Chelsey Hatch, Megan, Borkman, Sonnet Davies, Stephanie Griffiths, Maele Porter and Jocelyn Waite. For the boys it is Carlos Garcia, Dan Hales, Breck Lewis, Jesse Galovich, Spencer Vance and Dane Carlson. Prom Royalty contenders for the seniors include: Mary Jacobson, Elise Williams, Lizzie Bradley, Sarah Hawkes, Robin Davis and Ashley Gebert. For the boys, Tim Horn, Matt Gardner, Caleb Prior, Zach Gunderson, Craig Rice and Alan Foster. This year prom will be held at Salem Pond. This is a first for Spanish Fork High School. Although it wasn 't the Senior Council's first choice, there were over 14 schools that had prom the same day as Spanish Fork and venues were, on a first come first serve basis. "Choosing the spot for prom this year was difficult, there are over 14 other schools who are holding their prom the same day as us," said Senior Class President Marcus Hunt. "We did what we could."
