Let's play ball Team managers excited for season Melanie Peterson SFHS The Spanish Fork Dons Baseball Team has new managers. Coltan Tomlinson and Travis Reynolds will be keeping things in order for the Dons this season. Both Coltan and Travis are seniors at SFHS. When asked about the team's chance for a winning season, Coltan said, "With the depth of our pitching and batting power, the Dons will dominate." Coltan is excited for this opportunity and personally guarantees the accuracy of his stats. Travis is excited for the season as well and promises Gatorade will be the coolest thing in the dugout. When asked what challenges he thought the Dons will face, he said, "Nothing. This team has-been playing together since sixth grade. They know each other's strengths and weaknesses, and most, importantly, they are friends." Both boys want to thank Coach Shoe for this opportunity, and the only thing they want in return is a ring when the team wins State! Goodluck Dons from your new team managers. Courtesy photo INTRAMURAL CHAMPIONS: 7th graders Cortlen Nielsen and Connor Johnson teamed up to form a potent ping pong combination. The two defeated all challengers to become the first lunch champions this year! The tournament was organized by teacher and coach Dave Boyack. The winners received the coveted Lobo Intramural Champion T-Shirt. DFJH Iceskating Achievement David Bates Diamond Fork Jr. High congratulates 8th grade student David Bates for winning first place in the American Legion Essay Contest. The essay title was, "America —. Home of the Brave, Land That I Love." Courtesy photo D1AMONDBACK DAY: Our school rewards club which recognizes both excellent behavior and good grades recently took students to Peaks Ice Arena. Over 800 hundred students qualified and over 600 students participated. We've got a great student body! Keep up the good work! PFJH to present 'Joseph - and the Amazing ^Technicolor Dreamcoat' DFJH Spelling Bee ' >J" DiamonijFork Jr. High is excited to present Andrew Lloyd Webber's, "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor # Dreamcoat" The production will run from March 12-15,• "' 2008. Doors open to the public each evening at 6:30 p.m. and the curtain goes up at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the door. Come join us as our narrators, Emma Andreasen, Lisie Dixon, Lauren Maughan, and Jada Poulsen, weave \ the tale of Joseph, played by Madison Hurst, and his * coat of many colors. Uv Local kindergarten registration, March 19 Kindergarten Registration for all Spanish Fork and -Salem Elementary Schools will take place on Wednesday, March 19, 2008 from 7:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Please bring child's immunization record and birth certrficate to registration Courtesy photo SPELLING BEE WINNERS: Diamond Fork Junior High School's 7th and 8th grade spelling bee winner was Chad Flake. He^ won when he correctly spelled the word "disentangle". Annie Oviatt and Mendy Peacock tied for second place. Although the 9th graders couldn't participate in the spelling bee, Curtis Holt, Jerron Orton, and Alicia Pulido tied for first place on the qualifying test.
