SF basketball preview: From DONS • B l compared to only three from last year, well, let's just say the sky is their limit. "Our expectations are high," said Coach Mark Bailey. "They are still high. We have a lot of guys returning that had experience and some new young players." Spanish Fork lost some talented athletes who helped "Expectations are high. ... We have a lot of guys returning" — Mark Bailey take them to the semifinals in last year's 5A state tournament. Replacing several stars including Jason Steenstra will be an arduous task, but Coach Bailey is excited about some of the unproven players. "Kevin Roberts will see a lot of playing time," he said. "We also have a kid who is 6'4" and weighs 220 lbs." Not only is Lone Peak pre-season ranked as the front-runner to repeat as region champs, they are also dubbed as the team to beat in all of 5A. Three players from last year's 5A championship team return and have already signed on with division one schools. But don't tell that to sharp-shooter Zac Clayton. "They' re the team to beat right now," said Bailey. "They return a lot of guys. PG's obviously got a lot of returners. Our region is going to be tough from top to bottom." • •Top Brands • * Wall to Wall Inventory Clearance S A M ' S PREP O F T H E W E E K All-State Academic Athletes • * _ Euerything % above cost Text SheRox to 83043 for free gift 794-0604 1004 North 1100 East, Spanish Fork 30 seconds east of McDonalds Congratulations to the SFHS All-State Academic Athletes for fall sports.
