Show CLASSIZIED5 Prime Rib Specials Friday and Saturday Help Wanted &mem, ViieweAt Relent GARFIELD COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT SPECIAL EDUCATION DIRECTOR Complete all necessary and assigned Special Education Administrative duties and responsibilities required for successful program implementation as directed by the district superintendent, collaborate with the district business administrator in developing sound budgets relating to special education programs and services for students ages 3-22, complete necessary Utah Special Education Program Planning Improvement system monitoring activities (UPIPS) (Year 2), direct and participate in grant writing activities and RFP submissions such as the Regional Autism Training Grant, regularly monitor SPED files for compliance with IDEA 04 requirements, facilitate web-based IEPPRO Program Development, implementation, and personnel development, provide district staff with IEPPro updates and field user concerns and/or problems, Review SPED and ADA/ Section 504 Policies and Procedures for compliance with federal regulations, complete all necessary Scotopic Sensitivity/Irlen Syndrome Testing, complete all necessary Dyslexia Screenings, complete all necessary and required State and Federal Reports in a timely manner, complete all necessary and assigned Title I/Title III/Alternative Language Services Program administration duties and responsibilities required for successful program implementation as directed by District Superintendent (negotiated separately from sped services agreement), collaborate on the completion of the District's annual Utah Consolidated Application (UCA) and participate in those activities necessary for No Child Left Behind Implementation, provide sped teachers and classified staff with Ongoing CSPD Activities in all areas of Effective School Practices, Compliance, Special Education Issues and Strategies, U-PASS, Title I, NCLB, and Alternative Language Services, consult with teachers and parents on special education programming issues for students with disabilities and mediate disputes when necessary to insure that appropriate due process procedures are followed. Attend IEP's as requested by principals, teachers, and parents or those that are of a critical nature regarding the legal standing of the school district. LOCATION: Garfield School District covers approximately 5,270 square miles in Southern Utah. Highway 12 Scenic Byway connects the various schools in Garfield County. Garfield School District operates nine schools and has a student enrollment of approximately 925 students. Because of the geography of the area, the majority of the schools are "necessarily existent" small schools, as classified by the Utah State Office of Education.
