It was very nice. In Cannonville, Kasey Shakespear was the speaker with Coach Eric Jessen. Alvin & Teresa Larson is delighted to have his parents move back to the area and live in Cannonville. The Larson's at one time lived in Henrieville but then moved up north and now they are back to our beautiful country down here. Guy and Beverly Thompson have had Bev's sister, Donna Pierce of Spokane here for a month's visit. Another sister, Paulette Wiseman came over from Cedar City to join in the fun. Guy, Bev, and Donna will be joined by Guy Jr. and his family as they all will take a trip up to South Dakota and Mt. Rushmore. It was great seeing and hearing Nathaniel Cloud report on his mission and he look very good. Tall and handsome and we enjoyed listening to him and Bob Harman today. The Young Women's choir sang a beautiful song for us. Whitni Syrett accompanied them on the piano. I often get remarks from folks that they would like to read their news in the paper. Some late news, Alexis Tebbs was chosen to attend a selective leadership conference held in Washington D. C., March 15-21. She was the only student from Utah to attend this conference. While there the students learned how the government works and held a mock Congress. The students were the representatives and it was run much like Boy's and Girl's State only on a National Level. The students were taken on a tour around the capitol, stopping by such notable places as the Washinton Memorial, the World War memorials, and the White House. Alexis was able to meet Jim Matheson, Mike Lee, and Orrin Hath's assistant over the course of her stay. Alexis is the daughter of David and Cherrie Tebbs. Though we weren't able to pull off a win, our boys fought hard, driving the score up 126 to 122. Good work team. The Choir Team went to competition a few weeks ago and has received the results. The general choir received an Excellent rating, as did Krista Pearson, daughter of the Pearson's of Tropic. Sydney Cornforth, daughter of Karl & Sage Roundy and Erin Hayden, daughter of Lance & Marie Jaggar, received Superior marks, and Marilee Platt, daughter of Nathan & Lori Platt, has qualified to go to state.
