Show To the Residents of Garfield County As Garfield County Commissioner candidate I would like to respond to some of the questions that I have been asked while on the campaign trail. AG MARKET NEWS 1. How do I plan to create jobs? a. We need to search for ways to tap into the growing needs for energy in the United States. b. The Milford wind farm is employing 255 people, lets pursue this. c. Its been suggested that a solar panel plant might be an option. d. Could the farmers in Garfield County diversify to crops that could be used for biofuels? e. Lets give our children that have home base businesses the incentive to bring their businesses back to Garfield County. f. Lets expand the services at our Hospital. g. Lets pursue the needs for assisted living in our county. h. As your commissioner I will listen to any and all ideas from you to create jobs in Garfield County. The next question is two fold. 1.Are you running for office so that you can take over the garbage collection in Garfield County? 2. Do you plan to lay off Garfield County employees? Absolute not on both questions! When I lost my job at the Sawmill like many of you I was looking for a way to make a living and to be able to stay and raise my family in Garfield County. I saw the need for curbside garbage collection in our county. The people who want this service are already using my business. Those of you who do not are using the county bins. This gives everyone a choice which is the democratic way. I want my customers to know that I appreciate your continued support. If elected it will be my goal to create jobs not take them away The Garfield County employees are my friends and neighbors. To say that I want to take their jobs away is an insult to me and my integrity. I am running because I want to do the job. I have been attending the commissioner meeting for the last 8 months. I want the best for our County. I feel that I know the needs of the entire County . I want you to know that I have the time and dedication to serve as your commissioner and I am asking for your VOTE on JUNE 22, 2010. Thank You Wallace R. Dear Garfield County Residents, I am very pleased and appreciative to announce my candidacy for Garfield County Commissioner. I would like to share with you my platform. Jobs- Every job in this county is important right now. If elected, I will work hard to insure that we retain the jobs we have. Job creation- I have proven in the private sector, that I have the ability to create jobs. If elected, I will use that experience wisely, in anyway I can, to create jobs in this county. 2. Roads- This issue is extremely important to me. If elected, I will exhaust every effort to protect our access to our public lands. I know that this is a complicated issue, and I will be prepared to meet that challenge. 3. Education- Education is extremely important to me. I understand that as a commissioner there is very little I can do fiscally to help. However, this is what I can and will do if elected: I will continue to support the youth of this county. I will be involved in the activities of each school. All of our children deserve the best education available, regardless of which school they attend in the county. All of the schools in this county are equally important. 4. Volunteer Services- Our volunteer forces within this county affect us in almost everything that we do. They need to know that they are appreciated and that their effort is very important to each community. If elected, I will make it a priority to make sure that their safety and their resources are protected. As an independent business owner for the past 25 years and counting, I have learned many things that I know will help me be a successful Commissioner, if elected. Fiscal responsibility is already part of my everyday life. Your tax dollars are very important to me. I will work hard to make sure that every dollar is used efficiently. If elected, I will maintain an open dialogue with the residents of this county, concerning this issue. If elected, I will be a Commissioner for all of Garfield County, and will work full time to ensure that I have given the tax payers the value of a full time Commissioner.
