CONSTITUTION BOWL, A GREAT PLACE TO START "The Constitution Bowl was a very worthwhile event. It is a good idea for our students to understand where our rights come from." So said school board member Mack Oetting following the impressive U.S. Constitution competition that was sponsored by the Garfield TARs on Dec. 14 at Panguitch High School. Bryce Valley High School dominated the contest as three teams of students tried to beat the bell with their answers on questions concerning the Bill of Rights. The astute history winners were led by team captain Mikki Thompson. Nathan Cloud, Parker Clarke, Vanessa Shakespear, and Ron Cloud racked up points on bonus questions for a comfortable lead over Panguitch High School. -The patriotic activity was held during the school-day in the PHS Auditorium at the invitation of Principal Betty Rember and TARs Constitution Bowl Chairman, Ronnie Cooper. Moderator Laura Adams instructed the teams on the rules and format of the competition and kept the questions well paced. Students on the stage had to correctly answer a 'toss up' question in order to qualify for the weighty bonus questions. After the challenge was read the team had 20 seconds to collectively determine the complete answer. All teams were impressive because the BASIC EMT CLASS STARTING JANUARY Garfield County Ambulance will be holding a Basic EMT Class starting January 2007.
