In 1985, almost all of them stopped making stoves rather than adapt to the more stringent regulations. Most of those that remained turned to catalytic combustion as a solution. But the company now called Quadra-Fire chose instead to look at wood burning in an entirely new way. After nearly two years of research and development, founders Alan Trusler and Dan Henry developed and patented the Quadra-Bum system that bums and reburns gases and smoke up to four times. The technology set a new standard for clean, fuel-efficient heating with wood. And because it is non-catalytic, the system does not degrade in performance overtime. In fact, forthe past 15 years, the EPAhas rated our wood stoves as the cleanest burning in the world. Whether fueled by wood, gas, pellets or com, each Quadra-Fire stove is designed with a mind toward efficiency and an eye toward beauty. We put great care into every product, using thick steel and design details that both enhance appearance and keep the stove looking new for many, many years. Efficient, reliable, easy-to-use, and environmentally friendly, QuadraFire is always the smart choice for alternative-energy home heating. by Editor, Ryan Davis Fall brings a change in color, and so do the elections. As I eagerly anticipate change from fall to summer and all the memorable events that ensue. I sadly don't hold the same regard for the election season. Because I see that people don't care. Opinions often become presented to a largely uncaring American public as fact. Those of this apathetic nature accept any opinion and pass it along, with no regard for researching the hearsay for truth. This is very dangerous! What is even more dangerous is when a corrupt government candidate enters an election havng an agenda, knowing they will slip it through legislation without the majority of the unknowing and uncaring public catching wind of it. IT HAPPENS, because we let it happen. What also plagues me, is the negative attitude that dominates the contentious election atmosphere. Here is some reliable fact: Every two years Americans elect members of the House of Representatives to two-year terms and about one-third of their Senators, who serve six-year terms. The House of Representatives and the Senate make up the U.S. Congress. Presidents are elected to four-year terms. The elections in which Americans vote for their congressional representatives but not for president are known as midterm elections, which this year will be on November 7, 2006. Thirty-six states will also vote for their governors this year. The next presidential election will be in November 2008. Currently, the Republicans hold a small majority of seats in both houses of Congress. Because Congress has the power to pass laws and determine how funds are spent, the outcome of the midterm elections could greatly impact U.S. politics and law. So Whatever party holds the majority of seats in the house largely determines the direction of American policy and which laws are passed in America. Have you ever heard yourself thinking, "It doesn H matter what I think, I don't make a difference." This is problematic thinking! 77»".y is what makes America weak, and will lead to our loss of freedom. If you believe that things are not right on a local, state or national level, and are frustrated that you have no control, that is where you problematic thinking needs an overhaul. Overhaul 101: If you as an American, accept the attitude you don't matter, you choose to personally accept the choices of those who arc elected, whether or not you agree with the IQWS they pass. Why? Because laws are passed by those in the House who are elected. We keep and maintain our freedoms and beliefs by electing those who believe and think like us. This is the power of the people, and it is being lost, because people think "they don't matter". If you give up believing that your opinion matters, you are really giving up on what makes America, America. Learn about the person you are voting for. Know the candidates, and make an educated choice. If you leave this to fate, then you are leaving you and your families future to the hands of fate. I am not real comfortable with that. Become informed and make a difference.
