Syrett 679-8687 or vickidiane36@hotmail.com Congratulations to Matt and Sydney Lamas on the birth of their beautiful, little son, Deegan. He weighed in at 7 lbs. 5 oz. and was 20 inches long. He has so much black hair and an adorable little face. He is the great grandson of Mondell and Florence Syrett of Tropic and Yolanda Lamas of Antimony. His great grandmother is Rella Alvey of Tropic and Jean Syrett of Cedar City. We wish you the best of luck with your new little son. Condolences go out to the family of Erin Hurst who just passed away. She is the wife of Teddy Hurst who was originally from Henrieville. After a long battle with cancer she was finally called back home. She leaves behind her husband, Teddy and four children aged 9 thru 17 years of age. She was buried on the Bowman Ranch in Boulder, Utah. Her funeral was in New Harmony and along with the family she was escorted to Boulder by the Baca Motor Cycle Club. Attending from Tropic were Mondell and Florence Syrett, Ron(brother of Ted) and Susan Harris, Jim and Sheree Walstad and many friends and family from Escalante and Henrieville. We want the family to know they are in our prayers and thoughts. Sandy Johnson traveled to Cedar City to meet her daughter, Ruth Carter and her three children. She met them at the doctors office where the children were having their wellness check-up. All three children needed their immunization shots so Ruth needed assistance handling the twins, Kasie and Kenzie and her three year old son, Treyton. It was fun bonding with them again. Kathryn Pollock invited Wynona Henderson, Kay Shakespear, and Sandy Johnson to join her for the Women's Confernece in Kanab. it was a great day of bonding together with the other ladies. They enjoyed hearing Ardith Kapp Perry's keynote address and felt their lives were enriched with new ideas. They also savored the yummy food that was served. LaNae Cloud is excited to have her mother, Maela Collinwood, join them in Tropic. She has decided to make this her permanent home and joins with LaNae's sister, Sheryl and family in making Tropic their new home. We are all happy to have them here. Enroute to Minersville, Gary and Sandy Johnson wer able to visit Cove Fort. Sandy was especially impressed wjtht.eh beautiful quilts on display.
