Can you believe it? It gives me goose bumps even now to remember how excited I was when I received the first acceptance from a newspaper. That was over thirty years ago! What a wonderful experience it has been. I have felt so close to my readers, all of you who have so generously contributed to the column's success. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. But now at age 90, with failing eyesight, it is time for me to step down and let someone else take over. That someone is my dear niece, Veda Tebbs Hale, the fust of my many nieces and nephews. Veda and I have been very close throughout these many years and she has been involved in IT MAKES CENTS almost from the first. When I lived overseas she helped me keep this feature going, (this was before the marvels of e-mail and computers) I would send my column to her and she would make copies and send them to the various newspapers, who ran it in their homemaking sections. I'couldn't have done it without her help. This is only one of the reasons is selling out ALL nearly new furnishings. Dozens of bunk beds, queen & king. Tables & chairs sets all at giveaway prices. All practically new. Call 435-619-7400 or 676-2211. wdhobson @ infowest.com I am so glad that Veda has consented to take my place. She is a capable writer and a well-known artist. We were both born in the small town of Panguitch, (Garfield County, Utah.) We think alike about the practical side of life. I'm sure that the transition from Dear Vi to Dear Veda will hardly be noticed. And so, under Veda's jurisdiction, IT MAKES CENTS, will go on without interruption Again I thank you, dear readers, for your loyal support throughout all these many years. I think of you as my extended family. Veda will keep meinvolved as long as possible. Yours, Vi THOUGHT FOR THE DAY When one door closes another one can opens. • Readers, this is your feature.
