There is a program in Ghana which focuses on health; it's possible that many students going to the nursing program in Ukraine will go to Ghana next year, and those who have been to Ghana may choose to gain more experience by going to Ukraine. The Ukraine, Brazil, Spain, France (French) and two different England (theater, Shakespeare and literature) programs each have an early application deadline of Jan. 16. If students apply by the early application deadline, they have a few hundred dollars off the original cost of their chosen program fees and tuition. Also, grants are available for some of the study abroad programs. The Internationa! Center has expanded its services and is offering five more study abroad programs in 2007. The new programs for 2007 are Ukraine (nursing), Brazil (Portuguese), Mexico (Spanish), England (theater) and Ireland (ethics & values). The Ireland program, however, has been postponed until 2008 due to the lack of student interest. Of the ten programs now available, four offer credit in a specific language. Credit earned through study abroad can be applied to most majors, but one does not have to choose a program relating to their field of study.
