There are also a ton of giveaways, including cash and a trip to Las Vegas; Paul Ru/e/obogina Dear Rulh UVSC's Associated Students will host a guest lecture by Paul Rusesabagina on Friday, Febmary 3 at Noon in the Activities Center. Rusesabagina. real-life hotel manager depicted in the film Hotel Rwanda, will speak concerning his involvement in sheltering more than 1,200 Tutsis refugees during the struggle against the Hutu militia in Rwanda in 1994. Today he is involved in charitable organizations aiding survivors of the Rwandan genocide. In conjunction with his address, a screening of Hotel Rwanda will take place Thursday, February 2 at 8 p.m. in the Grande Ballroom. Admission is onlySl. This is the final week to see Norman Krasna's Dear Rulh at Hale Center Theater. The play is an entertaining story of the family of Harry and Edith Wilkins and their daughters Ruth and Miriam. Miriam, age 14, is a well-meaning teenager who begins a correspondence with Lt. William Seawright in hopes of boosting his morale while fighting in Nazi Germany... only she signs her letters in her big sister's name. The correspondence quickly becomes romantic when Miriam encloses a photo of pretty, 22-year-old, Ruth. How the Ule/t UICI/ Tun This weekend, UVSC's musical theatre students will perform How the West was Fun at 7:30 p.m. in the Ragan Theater. The first half of the show is a montage of western musical numbers from Oklahoma, Paint Your Wagon, Shenandoah, Annie Get Your Gun and The Unsinkahle Molly Brown. The second half is a 55-minute playlet How the West was Fun, a story about a mail-order bride, a southern belle, a can-can dancer and a sharp-shooting female stagecoach driver, journeying westward in search of men. Tickets are available at Campus Connection. Erin (lloufe UVSC Guest Author series presents international poet Erin Moure. Moure, author of twelve books of poems including "Little Theaters," is a Montreal-based poet and translator. Moure has been awarded the Governor General's Award for her original work, and is renowned for her award-winning poetry transla• tions from Galician. French, Portuguese, and Chilean Spanish.
