Mrs. Johnson conveyed the respectful greetings of President Johnson and presented several gifts to President McKay, including a book written in 1864 which was autographed by President Wilford Woodruff, a letter dated August 9, 1846, written by President Brigham Young to President James K. Polk, regarding situations of families of 500 Mormon men who marched with the Mormon Battalion; a book written oy President Johnson on the fly leaf of which the following message to President McKay was writ- ten: With great appreciation for the unique roles that those of your religion have played in the development of our country. A colored photograph of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir posing with President Johnson at the White House in July 1964 was also presented.
