The award also represents the way in which the mailing service at BYU is organized to help move mail faster in and out of the University, he concluded. Receiving this award allowed Rasmussen to meet with seven or eight postmaster generals from around the world to discuss ideas and thoughts about how to improve mailings. He has also been inducted in the Hall of Fame for his electronic development of the steel guitar. Luise King was raised in Sanpete County, the daughter of W. King Driggs, who taught music for a time at Snow College in the early 20 s. Driggs, finding that his teachers salary couldnt keep up with his growing family, taught his family to play and sing, and hit the entertainment road. Ending up in California, the family act was a hit. The three oldest King Sisters auditioned and landed a contract with KLX Radio. Soon they were heard and offered a contract by KSL Radio in Salt Lake City, and moved the family back to Utah. It was on KSL that the family was heard by band leader Horace Heidt and invited to the GOlden Gate Theatre. It was during this time that Luise met Alvino Rey. Soon Avion, Luise and the other King sisters left to form their own band. The King family continued to entertain and were seen in movies in Hollywood and on national television. Alvino Rey and Luise King have been around for a long time. But they seem to get better with age. Luise and ALvino recently celebrated 50 happy years of marriage and working together.
