Sherrell Douglas Frandsen, United States Air Force was held on June 29, 1988 at the Military Entrance Processing Station in Boise, Idaho. Captain Doug Frandsen was bom November 27, 1947, in Gunnison, Utah. He graduated from Gunnison Valley High School in Gunnison, Utah in 1971, and attended the University of Utah where he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Humanities and Education in 1980. He was a Distinguished Military Graduate from ROTC at the University of Utah and commissioned in the United States Air Force in March 1980. Captain Doug Frandsens military career began in October 1965 when he enlisted in the United States Army. After basic training at Fort Polk, Louisiana, he attended the Advanced Individual training atFort Leonard Wood, Missouri, followed by an assignment to Fort Benning, Georgia, where he completed Jump School training and was awarded his Parachutist Badge in 1 966. His first permanent duty assignment was to reassignment in March 1984, at which time he became the Chief of the Officer Training School Recruiting Branch, 3568th USAF Recruiting Squadron, Fort Douglas, Utah. In October 1 985, he was assigned as the Chief of Officer Training School Recruiting Division, 3501statUSAF Recruiting Group, Hanscom Air ForceBase, massachusetts, and later became the Chief of the Operations Division in September 1986.
