Frandsen is among twelve recipients of a $1400 award from the American Academy of Family Physicians to help finance teachtheir interest in the part-tim- e ing of family practice. The Parke-Davi- s teacher DeAwards have been given velopment the Academy since 1977 annually by to aid physicians who enter the part-tim- e teaching of family practice following completion of a family practice residency. A special part of the Leadermete will be the recognition of outstanding leaders from across the state. For the first time, a couple of alumni will be recognized. Each county can select one of their volunteer leaders to be honored at the awards banquet. One volunteer in the state will be chosen to receive the Doorknob Award in recognition of all the doors of opportunity that they have opened for young people. Nanette Thompson and Donald Smith to wed Camp Christine, of the Redmond Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, would like to invite everyone to their annual Galloping Tea. The event will be held at the Redmond Town Hall, Saturday, April 16, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Bake sale begins at 10 a.m., and members say they will have the Ebelskivers pans hot and ready for you to enjoy. Lynn Arly Edwards 64 of Springville died March 26, 1988 at Utah Valley Regional Center in Provo. He was bom January 12, 1924 in Salina to ARly and Iva Peterson Edwards. He married Marie A. Peterson September 15, 1976, the marriage later solemnized in the Provo L.D.S. Temple. He lived in the Gunnison area and also in marysvale where he was educated as a youth. He had lived in Springville for the past 12 years. He loved music and played several instruments. He was survived by his widow, Marie, of Springville and one son, Steve of Clearfield. Six grandchildren, one brother,, Ray Edwards of Lehi and one sister, Joy Hamel of Cortez, Colorado. He was preceded in death by a daughter Launa.. Miss Nanette Thompson will become the bride of Donald Allan Smith in rites to be performed Saturday, April 1 3, 1 988 in the Manti LDS Temple. The bride elect is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bryan D. Thompson from Aurora. Mr. Smith is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Allan V. Smith of Parker, Colorado. They will be honored at a reception that evening from 7-- 9 at the Aurora Cultural Hall. They will further be honored on Saturday, April 30 at an Open House in the Community Center in Castle Rock, with scatch Camp Christine Lynn Arly Edwards, age 85, home in Redmond. He was bom on May 15, 1902 in Redmond, Utah to James B. and Josephine Johnson Sorensen. He married Mary Anderson on June 30, 1948 in the Manti Temple. Beck, who died in a St. George nursing home at the age of 95. He was bom July 1, 1892 in Ephraim, Utah to Jens and Oline Beck, the family came to Centerfield when he was a child and resided there until about 1915. He married Zelma Westover February 18, 1914 in the Mand Temple. He served a mission for the L.D.S. Church before his marriage and he and his wife served a mission together soon after their He was employed by marriage. UnionPacific Railroad for more than 45 years. They resided in Low Angeles until their retirement and had lived in St. George since that time. He and his wife served many years as ordinance workers in the Los Angeles Temple and also in the St George Temple. They had been married 74 years. He was survived by his wife of St. George and many nephews and nieces. Sheri Bartholomew daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John P. Bartholomew was named to the SUSC High Honor Roll for Winter Quarter. She is working towards her Associates degree in secretarial science and will be graduating in the fall of 1988. She will then continue on for a major in Business Education. She is involved in Church activities, a member of the LDSSA (Church Student Government) and working full time while still taking 21 credits in School and achieving a 3.9 grade point average. Frandsen is a 1986 graduate from the Ventura County Medical Center Family Practice REsidcncy in Ventura, Califorteacher of family nia, and a part-tim- e practice for the University of Utah Department of Family and Community Medicine in Salt Lake City, Utah. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Allen Frandsen of Centerfield, Utah.
