Show ; l Valiev News The Satina Sun Iha-Gunnls- r Aurora News Kathleen Lloyd Primary Leaders and teachers from both the Aurora W ards enjoyed attending the Stake Primary Teachers appreciation dinner Labor of Love held at the Stake Center on Thursday evening. A lovely dinner was enjoyed followed by a fun skit put on by the Stake Primary Leaders adn then theevening was highlighted by Special Guest speaker, Marva Thompson, Richfield. A special ward was presented that evening for the ward with the best percentage of attendance to the dinner in which the Aurora lstward recieved a lovely cross stitch picture for their Primary Room. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry McCullogh were in Ogden over the weekend visiting with their Uncle, Mr. John L. Lewis who is a patient at McKay Dere Hospital. The Aurora 1st Ward cub scouts enjoyed their Blue and Gold Bnaquet Saturday evening at the Scout Cabin. Dinner was served and the scouts and their families enjoyed many western games. Awards were also given to several of the cub scouts. Visiting iwth Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Lloyd and family on Wednesday and Thursday was Kathleens brother, Mr. Joe Wheeler, Farmington, New Mexico. Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Curtis and Mr. and Mrs. Herald Curtis traveled to Salt Lake City recently to attend the funeral services for Eunice L. Wrecord. Holiday weekend visitors at the home of Eric and Elaine Beswicks were Mr. and Mrs. Dave Harlan from Provo. Danelle Black, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Black received her Golden Madellion Award this past week at the New Beginnings program J held in Salina for the Aurora 1st Ward Young Women. The Aurora 1st ward held their Ward Conference this Sunday, Feb;l4th with" members of the Stake Presidency and Stake organzations in attendance. Many scout leaders in Auroras two wards traveled to Reichfield on Thursday night to attend the Scout Recognition Banquet. Angela Mason, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Mason received her Golden Medellion Award at the New Beginnings Program held this past week in the Aurora 1st Ward Young Womens Program. Visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Huntsman and family on Sunday afternoon was Denniss brother and family, Mr. and Mrs. Steve Huntsman from Salt Lake City. Tracie Bennett was home over the weekend from college where she attends at Weber State College in Ogden visiting with her family and Mrs. Wayne Bennett. Venoy Curtis enjoyed spending some time in Sandy visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Earle Severence and family , Visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Lloyd and family this past week were Mr. and Mrs. C.E. Wheeler, and Kristee all of Farmington, New Mexico. Mr. and Mrs. Herald Curtis traveled to Mesa, Arizona with Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Curtis for a week visit where they enjoyed visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Ron Mills, Wickenburg, Arizona and then with Mr. and Mrs. LaMoine Curtis in Scottsdale, Arizona and Mr. and Mrs. Vem Freeman in Mesa. Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Curtis traveled to Mesa, Arizona where they visited with Mr. and Mrs. Vem Freeman and other friends in the area. Redmond News Tammy Johnson Dwayne and Brenda Brown are the proud parents of a new son. Little Brandon K. was bom on T uesday in the Sevier Valley Hospital. He is welcomed home by two sisters. Congratulations go out to LeAnn Pickett, who last week won the BYU guess the score and was awarded second prize, a part of the old gym floor. Way to go LeAnn. Leslee Nelson was hostess to club Progressive Wednesday evening. rummy was the game. Prizes were won by Sherrie Taylor, LeAnn Pickett and a tie for third wentto Brenda Chidester and Susan Bosshardt. Carla Wilkins was released as a teacher in the Relief Society Sunday. Sustained was Sherrie Taylor. This weekend marked the fifth annual St. GeorgeGetAway weekend. Miles and LaPreal Jensen enjoyed a visit from Miles sister Ruth Jensen of Mayfield on Sunday. Leland and Donna Vee Sorenson were happy to have their son Steve and Patty Sorenson and children Kell and Cole of Kanosh come for dinner on Sunday. Also stopping by to visit were Donna Vees sister Elaine and Sid Sosran of Slat Lake and mother Veda Jensen of Redmond. Kerry and Kim Sorenson and family of Orem, Garth and Jacque Sorenson and Aaron of Logan, Scott and Janalee Burback and Greg of Salt Lake along with Todd Sorenson and Sharee Sorenson were all at home Saturday for a surprise birthday celebration in honor of their father, Lynn Sorensons 65th birthday which is February 27. Happy Birthday wishes also go out this week to George Bertelson on February 22, Nathan Buckland on February 23 and Ike Harward on February 26. The group also sang I Walk In Faith. Elder Mark Y ardley , son of Gene and Anita Yardley returned home on Friday fromhisL.D.S. Mission to Finland. All his immediate family were there to meet him at the airport including four new members of the family whileMark was on his mission three brothers, Russell, Roy and Jay and one sister Helena were married. This was quite an at occasion meeting all his new once. Also there to welcome him home were Ira and Carol Malmgren and family and Diane Dace and her girls all of Salt Lake City. Elder Mark Y ardley will speak in sacrament meeting this Sunday, Feb. 28 at 10:45 at the May-fiel- d Chapel. Last Sunday Ruth P. Christiansen attended Sacrament meeting in Provo to attend her grandson, Elder Rodney Whitlock, homecoming talk. He has been on a mission to Texas. Rodney is the son of Errol and Carol Whitlock. Ruth has two grandsons and this is the second one to complete a mission. After sacrament meeting, a special lunch was held at the Whitlock home in Provo. Last Friday Lester and Al'ce Hanson was pleased to have a visit from Pauline Jensen of Salt Lake. Pauline was in Mayfield cleaning smoke in the home of her mother, Myrtle Hansen. Myrtle sent word by way of Pauline from her rest home in Salt Lake a special hello and expressed her love fot all the people in Mayfield. Saturday, Ethel Swallow Christiansen of Bountiful and FayeSwallow Hanson of Georgia were in Mayfield tc visit the grave of their recently buriec sister Edith Swallow. Harold and Violet Hinkle of Mayfield traveled to St. George last Monday to spend two or three days with Neil and Mary Louise Sorenson in their condo. The Hinckles then traveled on to Las Vegas to visit Violets sister who lives there.' Garth and Barbara Vest held a birthday dinner on Sunday for four grandchildren who recently celebrated birthdays. He was a professor or chemistry at low College for 20 years. In 1951 he arted a cattle ranching operation at ast Creek, near Salina, Utah.
