February 88 24. 1988 national honors Helen Dyreng, recieved the honor of Utah Mother of the Year, at the Annual American Mothers Convention held at the Salt Lake Tri-AHotel on Saturday , February 20. Mrs. Dyreng will compete at the National American Mothers convention in Pureto Rico in April. Jed Dyreng of Gunnison, a 1982 graduate of Gunnison Valley High School and a senior in electrical computer engineering at Brigham YOung University, was among 269 students initiated Feb. 16 into the national academic honor society Phi Kappa Phi. Maren M. Mouritsen, President of the B YU Chapter of the Phi Kappa Phi, said certificates of membership were presented to 38 graduate students in the upper 10 percent of their class and to 231 seniors and juniors with a 3.75 or higher grade point average.
