Show Social O uWeus o Gfubs O Funeral services for Willis D. Cloward, 70, Chester, who died July 29, 1977, in a Provo hospital of natural causes, were held Monday in the Chester LDS Ward chapel. Burial followed in the Chester City Cemetery. Mr. Cloward had been a farmer and livestockman and custodian of the Chester Ward for 10 years. He was born Feb. 8, 1907, in Chester to Lewis and Polly Taylor Cloward. He married Iris Ethel Buchanan, Manti, on May 6, 1926. The marriage was solemnized in the Manti Temple on April 15, 1955. Mr. Cloward is survived by his wife; two sons, Clyde, Bountiful, and LaMar, Lehi; a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Verna) Nunley, East Carbon City; a the granddaughter family raised, Mrs. Rex (Dixie) Jacobsen, Payson; 10 grandchildren; a num8 ber of nieces and nephews; a brother, Earl, Provo, and two sisters, Mrs.' Wayne Marx, Price, and Mrs. Edith Orr, for seven years in Manti and Sterling. Active in music as accompanist and piano teacher. Was a member of the Manti choir over 50 years. During World War 11 she worked in the parachute factory. She married David Olsen, Jr., on June 21, 1922 in the Manti LDS Temple. She was active in the LDS church most of her life. She served in the Primary, M.l. A. and Relief Society, both ward and stake. She served several years as Relief Society President, and taught the literature and social science lessons for many years. She was an active member of the Manti Literary Club and served as President and on several committees. She was a member of the D.U.P. and the Hopeless Club. Mrs. Olsen's eight brothers and one sister had preceded her in death. a She is survived by C. Mr. and Mrs. Elliott (Jenilee) Aanerud, Provo, announce the birth of their first child, a son, on June 23 at the Utah Valley Hospital. The baby weighed 9 lbs. 9 oz. at birth. Mrs. Jensen, the eldest child of George Christian and Christine Peterson Keisel, was born August 3, 1897, in Manti, Utah. She attended schools in Manti, but just before graduation from high school, found it necessary to stay at home to assist with the many duties in a large family. She married Wilford Jensen February 4, 1918. in the Manti LDS Temple. They became the parents of six children. Two babies died at birth, and two died in early childhood. Two daughters have lived to maturity, and have families of their own. They are Voniel (Mrs. Neil Reid), Logan, and Dorothy (Mrs. Robert Stoddard), Ephraim. son-in-la- Always a support to fter husband, who was a farmer, dairy man and did custom threshing, she took time for service in the LDS Church, having been both Primary and Relief Society president. Both Mrs. Jensen and her husband were generous with gifts of food and flowers from their garden and well-keyard. Mr. Jensen died May 28, 1952, and soon after his death, she went to Minneapolis, Minn, where she wwked as a cook in the LDS Mission Home during the time that her daughter, Voniel, served a mission for the LDS Church. The first to serve as a dorm mother at Snow College, Mrs. Jensen became a friend, confidant, advisor and disciplinarian for the girls who lived in Fern Young Hall and later in Eliza R. Snow Hall. A number of the girls still remember her with cards and letters on special occasions, or come by to visit and bring their families when they are in Ephraim. Talented in homemaking skills. They were married on Aug. 4, 1917, at Manti and left that day for Salt Lake City by train as the groom had enlisted for service in World War I. Mrs. Bird was Mantis first WWI bride. After the war Dr. Bird graduated from the University of Utah and then received his M.D. from the University of Illinois Medical School. His graduating class recently celebrated its 50th class reunion. An incomplete obituary was Funeral services for Maude Adell Tuttle Olsen, 82, who died in Manti, Utah July 20, 1977, of causes incident to age, were held Saturday, July 23 in the Manti Center-NortWard Chapel. Interment followed in the Manti City Cemetery. Mrs. Olsen was born in Manti August 24, 1894, to Luther Terry and Emily Amelia Cox Tuttle. She was the youngest of ten children, all of whom preceded her in death. She attended school in Manti and graduated from Manti High School in 1914.
