Show Will Observe Fiftieth Anniversary of Mr. and 'snn will honor their parents on their 50 th wedding anniversary at an Open House on Saturday, March 22, in the Richfield The children c Third Ward Cultural hall at 10 South 200 East Center St. Richfield, Utah, from 3 to 6 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend the Open House. The family request no gifts, please. Rulon and Jessie Chapman Mickelson were married on March 18, 1925 in the Manti LDS Temple. They were both born and grew up in Manti, Utah where they lived until September 1951 when they moved to Richfield. Mr. Mickelson was born March 23, 1899 to Andrew and Helena Maria Peterson Mickelson. He worked for the Utah Highway De partment for 40 years, before he retired in March of 1965. He has been active in the LDS church, serving in the Elders quorum, the superintendency of the Sunday School and has been assistant financial clerk for seven and one half years. He still holds this position. He is a high priest and a home teacher. Mrs. Mickelson was born December 21, 1901 a daughter of Samuel Welcome and Lillies Lyon Chapman. She has been active in the church having served in all of the auxilliaries She was presi- dent of the Richfield, Third Ward Relief Society during the time they were building and dedicating the Third Ward Church. She is a member of Camp Sevier DUP. She has been secretary and treasurer of this camp for 16 years, and still holds this position. The Mickelsons are parents of four children: Garth R., Richfield; Merrill C., Kanab; Mrs. Lloyd V. (Arlene) Smith, Manti; and Elliot S., Granger, Utah. Manti High School News by Paula Lee Marvin Higbee, displaying his speaking ability, was awarded a superior rating in oratory at the region forensics meet Monday, March 10 at Richfield. He will now travel to BYU and participate in the state forensics meet. Nine-- . teen other students from Manti participated in this meet, receiving many excellent and good ratings. will Stairway to Heaven be the theme of the 1974-7- 5 Junior Prom scheduled for tomorrow night, March 14. Accenting the theme, shades of peach, gold and forest green will decorate the Manti Armory. Look For the Clues ! DEPOSIT YOUR ENTRIES WITH THESE 6 MERCHANTS LISTED BELOW, THIS WEEK! i Clues may be hidden in ads below or in the ads of the sponsoring firms elsewhere in the paper. No clues will be hidden in news columns, editorial matter or classified ads, just in display ads of the sponsoring merchants in this section and elsewhere in the paper, 1. This is a family contest. Entries are welcome from every member of the family old enough to fill out their own entry. Anyone may enter except employees of the paper or members of their immediate families. You may submit one entry per person at any of the sponsoring merchants whose ads appear in the left hand side of this ad below the arrow. 2. Nothing to buy, use any slip of paper for entry blank. Not necessary to be present to win. Not necessary to be a subscriber to the paper. 3. The Mystery Personality may be anyone in the Manti, Ephraim, Sterling area. Clues to his identity will be hidden ONLY in the ads of the sponsoring merchants, which may include in the paper. Many ads have no clue; any of the same merchants in the area below or elsewhere some as many as five. This is a contest of skill and we intend to do our best to outwit you. 4. To enter, write the name of the person you believe to be the Mystery Personality on a piece of paper. Also list all the clues you can find in all the ads of sponsoring merchants. Put address and telephone number. Mailed entries will not be accepted, they must be placed in the entry boxes located at one or more of the designated merchants for that week. Don't bring entries to the paper office, please. 5. This week's contest starts when you receive this issue of the paper and closes Saturday night of the same week when the stores close. 6. As soon as the boxes are picked up (Monday morning) a drawing will be held from the combined entries. The first entry drawn that correctly identifies the Mystery Personality will win a $7.50 Merchant Certificate. If that entry also lists all the clues, and no more, hidden in the various ads of the sponsoring merchants, a BONUS of a $14.50 Merchant Certificate will be added. Whenever this BONUS is not won, it will be added to the next week's bonus which will continue to grow until it is won. All Merchant Certificates must be used within one week from the time the winner is notified and can only be redeemed at one of the sponsoring merchants down your name and stores. 7. The contest will run for 16 weeks. Family participation gives you a better chance to win. Your wife, husband, or one of your youngsters may spot a clue you missed. GOOD HUNTING. i i |
